No key for the coin box or top one piece. One piece Of the glass is broken. It looks like it's for repair or parts only type item. The stainless steel coin is in place. Up for auction is this nice Eco Air tireflator. This is a model 98 and comes with the wall mount stand and a copy of the service manual that has service bulletins from 1948 thru 1955. This has a plastic dial face but you can purchase the older metal parts and make this a earlier model easy enough. I put air to this and the bell works but I did not test the amount of air it was pumping because I had no guage or test equipment. So you are buying this as is for display. Vintage Tension Meter Or Scale=Made In France By Stromberg Carlson=Still Works!
Here is a rather scientific yet interesting find from a recent Estate Sale we recently attended. There is a dual use for this piece from what we found out. It is actually a Tension Meter. Which can be used for measuring how much pressure is being applied to a surface or held by a surface. Either moving or stationary. The other use is of course as a Scale. The dial has been set up to reflect Grams and it has a pair of movable red markers around the face and also a movable black arm that can be moved and left at any position desired. The red arm actually moves in response to the direction and movement of the stainless beams movement. This instrument is very sensitive and also seems to be very accurate even to this day. The box Measures: 4&1/2" Long by 2&1/2" Wide by 1&1/8" Thick. We do not know the year in which this ... moremeter was manufactured or what it was designed to specifically do. What we do know is that it is a sealed unit. With no signs of moisture inside of it. The Stromberg Carlson Company was actually founded by the 1894 Alexander Graham Bell Telephone Patent Expiration. The Company is most known for being instrumental in Phone Discoveries and expanding the network back in the day. Chances are if you are old enough to have spoken on a Land Line Telephone. Then you have used a Stromberg Carlson communication device. The condition of the leather clad box is showing its' age and yet the meter is as we have described. Please see the photographs we have provided. There is also no latching device for the box either. This is the way we found it. This is quite an usual find! Great addition to your collection! Duncan Miller Parking Meter! WORKS AND HAS THE KEY! It has ONE slot for pennies. Nickels or dimes. some of the meters I came across has 2 slots so please take note) The slot indicates nickel or penny but the instructions printed on other side says 12 minutes for each penny. 1 hour for each nickel and 2 hours for each dime(to maximize time on dial) The Time Expired tag sits up a little(see pic) but when dial is turned the violation tag pops up just fine! It is on a wooden base. Has considerable age to it- looks like original paint with the chipping but please review picture 10& 11 because it does look like it could have possibly been painted years ago. I have no idea of the exact age of this item but it appears to be from the 50's. Sitting on the base it measures approximately ... more15 1/2" tall.
