I got this“Maxon Utility Tester(Model 200) from an estate I bought recently. It has one set of Probe Leads and the Original Owner’s Manual. The Owner’s Manual says this meter is for testing and repairing: All Electrical Appliances and Motors· Automotive Equipment· TV Tubes including Picture Tubes I tested the meter by checking for voltage on a 12 volt DC battery and 120 volt AC and it worked good. I tested for Ohms and the meter did not move. The troubleshooting section of the Owner’s Manual says this is probably due to a defective battery and recommends replacing it. Overall both the meter and the manual are in good condition. Both show signs of age and usage. Note: the meter is missing one screw on the face in the upper right hand corner. Or 12 volts DC, according to previous owner's markings The plastic cover over the moving numbers is in good shape, no cracks. The counter appears to operate as follows: If a pulse goes through either solenoid. It hits the flap(above the solenoid) then the counter will advance. We think that a pulse on either side can make the counter advance. Not sure what this is used for exactly. The previous owner was an old time ham amateur radio operator. He worked at the television transmitter of a major broadcast network from the 1950s-early 1980s so it is likely this came from his workplace.
