What I can see visually is that it needs new leads as the insulation is weak and brittle, and the cover broke free from the hinges. The positives are that it looks cool, can be easily repaired, has the famous US&S"Tulip" logo, built in an era where craftsmanship was top priority, and was used by a Signalman or Tech somewhere at some time. I did send the meter back to Dosy a couple months ago to have the calibration checked and adjusted as needed and they sent it back with a note stating it was in perfect operating status and needed no adjustments. Included is a spare bulb(taped to the top of the unit) should one of the gauge bulbs burn out. Also included is the power supply that allows the digital frequency readout to operate. Here I have another BC-221 Frequency meter in very nice condition almost looks new. The insides are really nice and this comes with the Military green cover as you can see in the photos. This has a complete set of batteries installed they are dead sorry. I can leave them in there or take them out and make the shipping a little cheaper. This clocks in at 38 lbs with the batteries installed this is a great find and one of the best ones I have seen in this condition and also the first I have ever had with the Military green cover. The red scale ident device has come out of its groove so I had to count the turns to observe the notch freq. Dial is fairly close( 3 Mhz error at 1 Ghz) Type N connectors. A few scratches on the plexiglass cover but over-all decent condition.Cost in 1981 was 1125.00. Weight 12+ pounds/ about 15 pounds with packing box.
