I tried to test it with an HP oscillator but the output impedance of the oscillator was 600 Ohms and was probably not able to drive the"many" internal coils of this old beast. Pretty basic design, if it doesn't work I expect going in and cleaning a few contacts may do the trick. Very nice piece with beveled glass. Some damage so please look at the photo's closely. For sale is a vintage Gertsch FM-6 frequency meter. I plugged the meter in and turned the power switch on and nothing happened. The light did not come on. I am not at all familiar with these machines and don't know how to work one. But. Since the light did not come on, I assume that it does not work. It is also quite heavy and the shipping charge are high, but if for any reason the charges are less than what I am charging, the buyer will receive a refund of the difference.
