Here is a replacement frequency meter for a Belar FMM-1 FM Modulation Monitor. The Belar part number for this meter is#1120-0001. This meter was removed from an extender panel. Meter indicates +/ 3kHz. The mounting brackets are included. Meter was tested and works and the movement is smooth. It is a +/ 100uA full scale DC meter. It was tested using a variable power supply. Rauland BC-221-O Frequency Meter Offered here is a BC-221-O frequency meter. It is untested and is being sold as-is. The unit was made by the Rauland Corporation and the serial number is 2399. As you can see in the photos. The unit has all its tubes and the internals are very clean. Please note the smudged area on the lower right-hand corner of the faceplate. There appears to have been a sticker here at one point that was removed. It left some sort of residue/stain in that area. The frequency dial turns smoothly but a scrape can be heard on each revolution. The two indicator dials seem move normally. The calibration book MC-177-O is in good shape. There is a schematic diagram on the back cover of the battery compartment. There are no tubes or tools in the"spare parts" compartment. The outside of the unit has various nicks. Scratches, ... moresmall dents, and paint chips. The unit was stored in a dry basement and has a musty smell. There was some evidence of corrosion in the battery compartment but it seems to have been cleaned up well. As you can see in the photos, there are some paint drips on various faces of the unit. I don't know if this is poor manufacturing or whether the unit was repainted at some point. The bottom has suffered the most abuse of the external surfaces. The frequency meter comes from a smoke-free. Pet-free home. Shipping weight is 23lbs and I plan to ship via FedEx Ground service. FXR Frequency meter, N410A, 1-4 GHz, notch filter, coax connectors
I believe this device is a notch filter used to measure the frequency of a signal using a power meter- it has a pretty sharp 2 dB notch from the graph shown. I could find very little info on FXR. But I found the following: FXR Inc. Of Woodside NY used to make frequency meters back in the 1960s. You can still find their products on Ebay! Brian has helped us with some FXR history: Whilst FXR were definitely in Woodside. NY in the early sixties they were definitely part of Microlab/FXR by 1966(Source: the Microwave Engineers Handbook and Buyers Guide 1966- yes, I have been around that long! In an ad in the book it quotes"Microlab/FXR- the combination of Microlab, Bogart and FXR" At this stage they were in Livingston, NJ. In 2001 they were taken over by Wireless Telecom Group. The name has now been shortened to Microlab with no sign ... moreof FXR on the website or the catalog(except for a little bit of the history of WTG) Strangely. The website is fxr.com! They are now in Parsippany, NJ. Most of the old legacy products have also disappeared. This particular unit is part number N410A serial number 1076. Last calibrated 2-86. Coax connectors on both ends. It weighs a bit over 8 pounds, scrap brass is about $2.50 per pound, so there is $24 or so of scrap brass in this item- I hate to scrap it but I will if there is no interest in it- It is in very good cosmetic condition, it seems to work, but I have no need for it and I am running out of space for"toys" I've started the bidding below the scrap value of the item.

This is a cool vintage radio frequency meter with wooden box in good cosmetic condition. I have no idea how it is supposed to work so I have not tested its accuracy. There is no obvious sign of damage. The needle moves and all the dials turn. It has some wear, a few scufs and scratches. The box significant wear but is intact and functional. Here is a vintage Signal Corp. Model BC-221-J frequency meter made by Zenith Radio Corporation. While the frequency meter part appears to be original. The power supply has been modified. Someone has built a nice AC power supply in the rear of the cabinet(see photo) I am selling this unit for an elderly friend of mine who has owned it for many years and now he needs to downsize. As you can see from the photos. The frequency meter is in nice condition. The power supply is nicely constructed and even has a schematic diagram pasted inside the cabinet. I replaced the old, frayed power cord and the unit seems to work fine. I tested both the calibrator and the frequency meter with a shortwave radio and it appeared to be on frequency. Sorry, no manual but you can download a copy on the Internet. Photos say it all. While I have described this unit ... moreas accurately as possible. Please note that vintage tube equipment is best enjoyed by those with an understanding of electronics and the ability/equipment to work on them.
