Vintage/Antique General Controls DC Millivoltmeter Voltmeter Glendale CA Works!
Pictured here at auction is a tested and working millivoltmeter model 489 in original case. It was made for General Controls Company of Glendale. California by Weston Electric of Newark, NJ. It has two hook-ups and therefore scales for 500 mV and 50 mV. The case is complete but the leather is broken at the"hinge" due to age. The lead are also complete but have a few breaks in the insulation.

Very nice and working vintage voltmeter. Looks very much like a Weston 931 but I can't find their name on it(unless it is underneath one of the labels) I tested it with a 9V battery and it did measure the right value. It does not mean that the instrument is calibrated, though, it has been sitting in storage for decades. It will look great on a vintage radio repair bench. 1950's NASA - Western Electric Company DC Voltmeter
This is a DC Voltmeter which was clearly property of NASA from 1960 thru 1966. As you can see in the pictures it was utilized at the Pacific Missile Facility in the Hawaiian Area. What a cool piece of history. Whether it was used on a missile. The first satellites(Explorer, Apollo 13, Mercury.etc) or any other early NASA mission is really unknown. The uses are endless. I was trying to research the era and the placement and there was just so much going on in that time frame especially due to the fact that NASA had just started or changed names from NACA to NASA in 1959-1960. As one should know, there is not a lot of NASA equipment out there because NASA does not just'throw' stuff away when done with it. However, how this item got out to the public is beyond me but we ended up with it. I am assuming it is RARE, RARE, RARE and I don't ... moremean the voltmeter itself but the fact that all over it there are NASA stickers that show its authentic use by NASA at that time. In the picture of the top of the meter above the calibration sticker. Is where somebody took off another sticker. That is just sticker residue and I DO NOT want to try to remove it incase I ruin it. HP 3440A Digital Voltmeter and 3444A DC Multi Function Unit You are bidding on a wonderful. Vintage multimeter. It is modular with a 3440A and a 3444A mounted in a rack mount or portable case. It is in working condition although I did not fine tune the adjustments. I tested it with a 6 volt battery and the reading was +6.262 volts. I tested it with a 500 ohm microphone and it read 480.6 and with a 600 ohm microphone and it read 620.7. It also has an internal 8000 ohm test resistor and when that button is pushed, the readout is 8050 ohms. There are two zero adjustments. One is on the front of the 3444A unit and the other is on the back behind the 3440A unit. The exterior of the case could use a good cleaning and other than some minor scuffs, it is in great condition. There are no probes included. These meters are all the same size and measure 2-11/16" across in diameter and 2" deep including the nuts/bolts on back in the measurement. Each meter is numbered from 1 to 3. All meters are in great condition and work as shown in the pictures. All original hardware to mount the meters and attach wire to the posts are included. Also included is a shorting bar that can be used to ground the meters together.
