Funky Old Vintage Weston Electric Ammeter -- Industrial/SteamPunk Item
Funky old Ammeter made by Weston Electric Company of Newark. New Jersey. Patent dates run from 1888 to 1896. The glass over the meter scale is broken, but can probably be replaced, since it's flat glass. The round beveled glass over the pivot is intact, but looks dirty on the inside. I didn't want to try taking it apart myself to clean it or replace the glass, but I'm sure that it can be done. Very cool old piece. See photos.

Its purpose is to increase the current measuring range of the multimeter, and provide electrical isolation from the circuit under test using a transformer. The adapter slips into the multimeter plug sockets and is locked into place with a clip at the back. Only the adapter is included in this auction. The condition of this adapter is as follows: The adapter was successfully attached to a Simpson 260 multimeter. However. No electrical tests or measurements were made with it. The internal components are in good physical shape. There is a low resistance between all binding posts and the common binding post. The panel switch moves freely and all binding post knobs turn freely. The adapter case ... moreis in good physical shape. But has some scuff marks and scratches. There is some minor damage to the 12.5 A binding post. It would appear someone attempted a connection to a high current live circuit. And the resulting spark vaporized some of the post metal. Old Original John Lauson Hit Miss Gas Engine Ammeter Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a very rare original John Lauson ammeter. It is from the same John Lauson Company in New Holstein. WI, that built the Frost King hit and miss gasoline engines. They were used to test the strength of the batteries that were being used to run the engines. It is in great condition considering it's over 100 years old and I see no reason why it wouldn't work. It has the original cloth covered wire on it which is a bit tattered but it will work the way it is. It measures about 2 1/8 inches in diameter and the only thing I see wrong with it is the glass is missing. I'm sure this would be available rather inexpensively at a local clock or watch repair shop. This would be a great addition to your early agricultural memorabilia collection or would really look nice displayed with your John Lauson engine at the shows! Vintage GE Clamp On AC Amp & Volt Meter Ammeter With Case And Leads
This is a vintage General Electric clamp-on a m meter and voltmeter with a rotating scale in working used condition. It comes with its original leather case in somewhat rough shape but serviceable. The leads have been soldered to the base of the meter- don't know if this was original or a modification. But have just tested them and they do function. This is a heavy duty piece of equipment. I just can't keep all of this stuff! Low starting bid and no reserve. I will combine purchases to save on postage. Please e-mail with any questions. Though I don't like the necessity of stating this.
