This gentleman worked for the Sherwin Williams Paint co. until retiring in the 1960's. This comes from a box of machinist tools that date between 1900 and 1960's. The case is old and has wear and tear from previous owners. Tubular inside micrometers are designed for large internal measurements beyond the capacity of most other micrometers. Each set consists of a micrometer head mounted at the end of a tubular holder in which measuring rods can be inserted and adjusted to the desired size. Inside micrometer set -Rod Type International Tool USA - similar to Starrett 124
Offered without reserve is a vintage Inside micrometer set from an estate. This set is housed in a thick Bakelite case that has a very high quality feel. I suspect that this set would date back into the 1940's- 50's era. It was made by the International Tool Co. in the USA(San Leandro Calif. It is quite similar the the Starrett 124 or 823d sets we sold a few months ago and is of just as high of quality in my opinion. The longest rod is approx. 10" long and the rest are of various lengths. The micrometer itself has a short rod installed that was pushed in to it's short limit, there are 8 rods total.
