Here is a Precision Height Gage made In POLAND by VIS. The Original Storage Box and attachments are included. The Gage is in excellent condition and was cared for. No rusting or pitting. Slides and adjusts smoothly. Reads in 1/1000" and.02' The previous owned etched his name on the slide and top of the Gage bar. These etchings do not effect the operation of the instrument. He also wrote his name on the inside of the storage box lid. The box is solid. Hinges are not sloppy and the sliding latches secure the lid as intended. The outside of the box lid is dirty, probably from shop storage. This instrument was obtained as part of a lot sale so I do not know it's history. There is one slot empty in the box. It is in good working condition and comes with 2 power cords. 1 for charging and 1 for operating) 3 batteries(2 hold charge and 1 does not hold a charge) and the operating manual. This gage has about 656 mm travel from top to bottom and can be either English or metric. It has a simple height gage setting and 3 other programs which do various functions but to do the programs, you will need an electronic stylus. I will send a tesa electronic stylus with this gage but it has the wrong connector on it and must be changed to use. the tesa stylus is not pictured and not guaranteed as it is a bonus because it is not the original one) This is a good gage which needs cleaning but will serve you well. Fowler Cathetometer. Apparently clamps into most height gauges to replace the scriber and provides an optical sighting method of measuring features(has internal cross hairs) In the pic's, you can see the tongue coming off to the side; this is what clamps into your height gauge. The unit has a couple of focus adjustments, one for the cross hair clarity, and the other for focusing on the object being measured. Also appears to have a horizontal adjustment(has built in spirit level) Clean and smooth however: the machinist who used this last told me that one of the focus adjustments(probably the one that focuses on the object) can go right off the end of it's internal rack and pinion and you need to take it apart to get it re-engaged. Apparently not a problem under normal use but if you inadvertently crank it to one end. You may need to ... moremake it good again. The box is a bit off, lid seems slightly skewed but really not too bad overall. Also the unit will not fit into the box unless the focus is adjusted so as to retract its overall length. Could be exceptionally handy for measuring those oddly shaped items to which a normal height gauge just can't get close enough!
