It weighs 6 oz. and everything- thimble, lock, and ratchet- all works well. Since this is a vintage model, it does have pitting and discoloration, but not on the spindle, just on the thimble and body. Somewhere in its history, an owner stamped in a small discrete name or logo on the front. Carefully look at the photos to be sure that you will be satisfied with this unit.

The circular center is precisely fitted into an identically-shaped receiver. It is clearly marked Brown& Sharp Mfg. Co. Providence. R.I. U.S.A. with the patent date. December 2. 1890. The handle bears the Brown& Sharpe logo of two rectangles at right angles to one another. With the letters B∙S above the horizontal rectangle and the words TRADE MARK below the horizontal rectangle.
