Ralmike's 4x6x4x1 Angle Plate, GC USED
Bloody but unbowed is a Ralmike's 4 square by 6 tall. Still very good and not deeply stained. I'm not sure where Ralph was getting his fixturing work from back in the 70's but the apparent original hardness of this thing and it's stability for the time I've had it. maybe an old Suburban. Doubtful it's a Herman Schmitt just because of the hole layout. Be advised this item is a little undersize all over. but I wasn't the perfectionist to dust it. In any event. I experienced much better stability of the angle settings going to Class 8's, hope you agree. easier to work with in there as well. The overall quality of the joint and basic built in precision of this one is true Brit, and I'm sorry to see it go. but I'm happy with something smaller and here you go. Toolmaker's Stepped Angle Plate
This is a vintage stepped and tapped small angle or fixture plate. I purchased this over 20 years ago from the retiring toolmaker who handcrafted it. It is in excellent condition and never been used in a production setting. It has no dents. Tooling marks, etc. Murrie did stamp his name on this unit(see photo) And it is also stamped with S7. Which I believe to be the material that it is made out of. The unit is approximately 2 1/2" x 2 1/4" There are 2 steps on each face. The first being approximately.620 from the bottom. The second being approximately.785 from the bottom. All of the holes are drilled and tapped for 1/4 x 20. There are chip slots at each step. The unit appears to have been professionally ground. I believe it is hardened. But I don't have the ability to test this. This would be a fantastic tool for inspection ... moreor as a holding fixture for custom parts. Any questions. Please ask.
