Huge Lot Of Used Tool Steel Stock Blades and other HC steel (Knives Knifemaking)
Over 40 pieces of used tool steel(Not counting chisels or files) in very handy sizes for knife/tool making. Not my preferred material but I have made several nice knives out of it. Also included is all the old chisels and Files which are also good knife making stock or keeping as they are because they are still in usable shape. I use mainly 1080 so I need to clear some of my back material stock out! I will never use all these billets and it would be better if someone could get some use out of them. Machinist scrap hard tool steel. 10+ lbs two were cutters BS 1 93 K110 5- There are four pieces of steel here, with holes drilled in them. I am not a machinist, so please pardon the dissertation. My customers pay well for the metal I find. And it’s worth my time to be thorough. I seem to recall the welder/machinist who sold me these said they were“c-3” but I cannot certify that that is so. I hope my description and photos are sufficient for the buyer to determine that. He also said not to hit them with a hammer. All pieces are some 5/8 inches thick. Though the smaller are ever so slightly thinner than the larger. Each piece has three holes I would describe as“counter-sunk” The two larger pieces measure 10 3/4 inches long and for 8 1/2 inches of that length measure a height of 1 7/8 inches. The holes are oblong. 7/8 by 3/4 on one side and ... more5/8 by 9/16 on the other. These pieces. I was told, were cutters, and if used are hard indeed, because you can run your fingernail down them uninterrupted, as though it were a well sharpened knife. On the edge of both is written“AU 931 HRC 60 2/97” The two smaller pieces are 8 3/16 long. The width tapers from 2 to 1 1/4 inches. One edge has a nice. Clean bevel. The holes are 13/16 on one side and 9/16 on the other. A useful looking stamp on the end of each reads“BS 1 93 K110 5” Shipping– These will be tightly and separately wrapped in cardboard so they will not harm each other or bust their way out of a medium flat rate box. Free local pickup is an option if you can make your way to Saint Paul. I always like to make the acquaintance of buyers who might like to tour my warehouse. I ship only within the U.S. So no international transactions, thank you.

Tools and dies made from O1 will have good wearing qualities since the tungsten and higher chromium content gives improved wear resistance over the straight manganese grades.
