I don't know how Godinger was able to copy this piece of Jensen silver/art. Open to International Bidders! This No Reserve auction. Is for a vintage 1970's Ludwig model# 1304-1 hoop mounted bass drum anchor. I have copied a page out of the 1967 Ludwig catalog, that shows this exact piece. As you can see from my pictures. This anchor is in excellent condition, and is beautifully chrome plated. This anchor is slightly different from the 1964 version which Ringo Starr used with The Beatles. There are no rust spots on the chrome, and the overall appearance is extremely good. Company Silver Wine Bottle Holder Quadruple Plated Rare Late 19th Century Bottle Holder with Antique Handblown Bottle and Stopper Patent March 8th 1881#1 Mortiz Korff Stamps on Bottom This auction is for(1) Meriden B. Company Bi-fold wine bottle sleeve/holder. The number 1 was the bottle size/model indicator. This rare piece is hinged and bisected and opens to accommodate a wine bottle and can also act as a pitcher of sorts. From the photos you can see it is marked with the Meriden B. Company mark with scales(Meriden Britannia Meriden CT) It has the Quadruple Plate mark. The number 1, a patent date of March 8th 1881, and the name Moritz Korff. This piece is in nice shape and has very fine detail on the handle. The bottle and the stopper are also included- on the bottom of the bottle is a quadrangle with an"S" in the center. ... moreThe sleeve opens and closes with ease and closes firmly and the chain and pin secure it from opening via the handle. This piece measures approximately 11.5" in height(see photo with measuring tape. The bottle has an"S" in an elongated diamond which could probably be from the Southern Glass Company(circa 1920-25) or possibly the Swindell Bros. Baltimore Maryland(1869-1959) or based on a collection of papers held at the Winterthur library, there is a letter about Chas Yokel and his glass mold manufacturing firm with a request from the Chicago Glass Manufacturing Co, ordering bottle modles with an"S inside a diamond" on November 17, 1887. We are not sure of the origin of this bottle but can put it as least as far back as 1920s. We did locate the original patent document of the bottle holder and added it here in the photos for those who are collectors and would like more information on this piece.
