Up for bid is one vintage Hard Rubber& Nickel Plated Brass casting reel manufactured by MONTAGUE. 60 yard line capacity. This reel is marked with a model name on the face plate. It is very very faint. It starts with T and has two rows, the second row appears to be'CASTING REELS' I believe it may be a'TRIBUNE CASTING REEL' by Montague, but have not been able to locate a picture to compare it to. This reel is in good condition. It measures 2-1/4" diameter, 3-5/8" deep including the handle, pillars are 1-5/8" long, and has a foot measuring 2-9/16" long by 9/16" wide. On the bottom of the foot is inscribed"60" It has a 3.5:1 geared multiplier. It has a clicker slide button on the rear plate, and a drag slide button also on the rear plate. Both the clicker and drag control work. The crank ... moreside is engraved with" T.Casting Reels" As previously explained. It appears to have been manufactured by MONTAGUE. Vintage Nickel Plated Brass Fly Reel w/2:1 Multiplier & Brake Lever
Up for bid is one Vintage Nickel Plated Brass Fly Reel with 2:1 Multiplier. The foot appears to be a one piece casting. The handle knob is wood. There is a lever protruding from the front cover that no longer functions. Looking behind the cover it appears it may have been a brake as there is a hole that leads to the back of the spool. Whatever was there is there no longer. It is in good working condition otherwise. And good overall condition with the exception of about 10% plating loss. There are no markings anywhere. Some identifying features are the screws are deeply slotted, the cover fits nicely into a recessed lip, the handle passes through the cover in somewhat crude fashion with no sleeve or raised bushing, and the gears are relatively thick, almost a 1/4" It measures 2" diameter. 3" deep including the handle, and has ... morea foot measuring 2-5/16" long by 9/16" wide.
