VINTAGE COPPER ICE FISHING ROD W/REEL
A friend who is helping me identify some of my guys things told me this is an old Telescoping Copper Ice Fishing Pole/Rod and a Reel that appears to be a Fly Reel but that is what is on it so it goes with it. There are four(4) copper telescoping sections with copper bands that surround the eyes and all the eyes are original and intact. The Cork handle is in very good condition. There is a round metal butt end piece that has a small chip in it. The reel is quite old and shows it's age but works great and the only markings on the reel say USA. I can find no markings on the rod itself. Extended the rod measures approimately 68" long. Beryllium copper(this is how others on eBay were listed) casting rod extends to approx 5 ft long. Also included in this set is a vintage Pflueger Summit NO. 1993L reel. MAde in USA. The rod features a cork handle. Looks to be in pretty good condition. Some metal discoloration where reel hooks into rod. There also is a bag included, which looks to be in nice condition. Antique Tall 60" Copper Lightning Rod with Milk White Electra Ball Globe
This is an old and very tall lightning rod with a very attractive milk white color globe with"Electra" printed on it in raised letters. The tall pointed rod has a point at the top and is non-magnetic. I believe it is copper. The frame work is magnetic. The frame extends out at the bottom with 3 feet measuring about 18" apart. The white globe is a bit unique having the word"Electra" printed on it. Each end of the globe has some rough edges or chips which is not unusual for these globes. It looks very good on the rod. These lightning rods and globes make very nice outdoor or yard decorations and would even be a very unusual and interesting indoor accent.

MASSIVE 32" Horse Weathervane/ Lightning rod Antique Vintage Copper Brass Horse measures approx. 31" x 17" and the whole piece measures approx. 33" long x 20" tall. It is being sold as found. It will need to be reattached to the pole. I do not know what the head is made from but it looks like brass(just not positive) and I do not know how old it is but it looks very old. Stamping on the tip says" D x S Des Moines" This great looking old rod was salvaged from an old turn of the century era barn that was being taken down here in southeast minnesota. It has beautiful. Old, weather tarnished copper and iron patinas and would make an eye catching piece in any collection. The old copper rod is complete with a very sharp point on the top. It is just under 53" tall. Sage TXL 2wt 7" 10" 3 piece rod with rod sock and factory tube. I am also including a weight matched Ross Evolution#0 Reel. I have Warranty cards for both the rod and reel. I also have the neoprene factory sock for the reel as well as the original box. Very clean and well taken care of set-up that has not seen much use. For sale is a pair of vintage(maybe antique) lightning rods. Puchased recently in SE Kansas. I know little about these. But here's what I do know; They are 54" tall and are supported via a metal tripod system. Which I am not exactly sure how it works? They are bluish so I am assume the main pole is copper. ANTIQUE TWISTED SPIRAL IRON LIGHTNING ROD COPPER FINIAL TOP KRETZER 52" TALL
This lightning rod is very old- all of the iron parts are rusty and the copper? finial has great green patina. A strong magnet does not stick to the finial. The twisted iron is one solid piece. Not wires twisted together. It measures 52 1/2" tall, has a 3 legged base, and the legs can probably be spread to make it stand on its own. The twisted rod moves freely up and down in the base guides. The finial is marked KRETZER ST. LOUIS- see photo 4. Please see the other items I have listed. ANTIQUE c.1900 CAST IRON and COPPER WEATHER VANE ARROW 28 1/2" LENGTH Great old cast iron weather vane directional arrow. Figural arrow has a center double loop where it can be placed on a lightening rod or pole. The opposing end of the arrow is thick copper and was made so an animal or figure could be mounted to it. The cast iron arrow and copper rod are riveted together in the center. This appears to be all original and is all very old but solid and free of cracks or damage. Some typical pitting in the cast iron as shown. The overall length is 28 1/2" With the arrow portion measuring about 16 inches long and the copper rod portion measuring about 12 1/2 inches long. Vintage Weathervane Antique lightning rod Ball 21" Country Decor Farm Copper
For your consideration I have two copper lightening rods. They measure 21" tall. They do feature quite a bit of patina from years of being out in the elements but could be cleaned up nicely. The mounting brackets look as though they have been painted silver at some point. They both feature two rings with screws to hold the lightening ball in place. One goes on top and the other on the bottom of the ball. I am including a ball with each rod. One is a very pretty Easter purple color and the other is white. The balls are not cracked throughout but do exhibit some chips around the top and bottom rims as most all balls do. The rest of the ball is great condition. I do not have caps that go around the top and bottom rims of the balls. You do not need them but if you would like they can be purchased fairly inexpensive on Ebay. Vintage Copper Lightning Rod Weather Vane with Glass Ball & Directional Arrow
For auction is a complete vintage copper lightning rod/weather vane similar to the one seen on a recent version of American Pickers. This one was one of two that graced an old barn in eastern Pennsylvania. It would make a great architectural display piece for your home. Right now. It is mounted on a board for display purposes but it will not be shipped with the board. You can supply your own and save shipping costs. The three legs and framework for the rod are iron and are rusted from years of being exposed to the elements. Just the rod is copper. The three legs were meant to be spread out and attached to the peak of the roof. The bottom of the rod has a copper loop through which ran copped cable to make any lightening strike go to ground. The glass ball was intended to explode if hit by lightening to indicate a strike. The pictures are representative ... moreof its brown light coffee color. There are no cracks in the glass but there are flakes on the upper and lower edges of the circular hole as can be seen in the 6th and 7th pictures. It appears that the more serious flakes resulted from the ball turning on the directional arrow. I suppuse there is some type of washer or gasket to prevent this type of damage. The arrow is 20 3/4" long. It is made from cas aluminum or white metal as it is not very heavy. The rod stands 65 3/4" tall and the entire peice shows good green copper patina.The ball will be shipped separate from the rod and arrow to prevent damage.
