Art Deco 1930's Bookends Aluminum Muscular Men Working Advanced Aluminum Casting
This listing is for a rare c.1930's Art Deco Industrial Workers Aluminum Bookends by Advance Aluminum Castings Corp. in Chicago. Illinois. From what I can determine on-line. It was made around the 1920's or 1930's and is reflective of the industrial Art Deco period or near that. The company, Advance Aluminum Castings Corporation, was started in 1910 and is known for fittings and castings for the industrial profession, not for bookends. It was probably a salesmen sample or for a customer. It is made out of aluminum and shows two shirtless foundry workers poring hot aluminum. The back is marked: Advance Aluminum Castings Corp. 2742 W. 36th Place. Chicago, Illinois Sand-Permanent Mold Aluminum Castings*Heat Treating* AACC. It is 4.5" tall x 6" wide x 2.25" deep. The original green felt is still attached and it is slightly ... morefaded. There are no cracks or chips. There is a bit of scuffing along the edges but overall, it is in very good vintage condition.

Theres an aluminum thing with wooden handles that opens and closes(comes with screws to keep it closed. Looks kind of like a sandwich thing for camping that you hold over fire. Also included is 6 rubber molds of figures that you would make out of pewter I would guess. Then theres what I assume isaa melter. Theres no temperature regulkation on it. The plug says 5a 250v- 10a-125v. I will guarantee it works but I am not plugging it in as I don't know what the#s mean) Theres also a little sample of micromesh mold lubricant. Up for auction is a used Abu Garcia Blue Yonder surf casting reel. This reel was only used one time by myself. This reel proved too large for my surf fishing needs. This reel features cast control and a powerful 5.3:1 gear ratio.Also features Abu Garcia smooth carbon matrix drag system and fairly old bait clicker feature. All functions work as intended. The only cosmetic blemish to report is the loss of spool color on the clicker side of the spools skirt. This was caused by my thumb rubbing on the spool skirt during casting. Up for auction a Nice and rather Unusual CIRCA 1950's-1960's FRENCH-MADE ALUMINUM RAISED PILLAR NARROW-SPOOL CASTING REEL. I've found little information on these particular models. Which seldom show up for sale in the U.S. I did find that many similarly designed models were imported into this country during the 1950's and 1960's by the L.M. Dickson Co. of San Francisco, better known to most of us as an importer of Japanese rods and reels. The reel is stamped"MADE IN FRANCE" under the foot, the only markings on the reel. A very unusual design to say the least and the first I have seen in person. The Penn general purpose reels, such as the Surfmaster, No.200 are as highly valued as mom, apple pie and the good old USA. These reels offer serious features like durable aluminum spools, precision machined gears and Penn's famous HT-100 multi-disc star drag. With the first model built in the late 1940's. This reel has seen many improvements over the years construction-wise. The surfmaster series is built along the lines of the Squidder reel, and consisted of 4 models: models 100, 150, 200 and 250. Set 3 Founders Tools For Sand Casting Bronze Aluminum Copper Neat!
Offered for purchase THREE Founders Tools For Sand Casting. The upper one is bronze. Measuring 4 13/16" long(straight across) marked R Polancy, the middle one is aluminum measuring 7 3/8" long marked G Monk, the lower one is copper, measuring 7 9/16" long, and they weigh 3 3/4 oz unboxed. These are all in decent condition and were cleaned. There is the usual wear and patina. These are neat and you sure don't see too many around made of these metals. Unique Free Formed Molten Metal Sculpture. Grasping to the Past" I recently disassembled an old trailer home and recycled most of the metal. However. There were a few small pieces of metal that I failed to separate and they made it into the burn pile. After I burned the pile, I was going through the ashes and discovered this piece. This beautiful piece is the result of molten metal forming in the crevices within the pile. It appears to be grasping to a small piece of ceramic tile that it must have formed around while cooling. The piece has beautiful natural coloring as you can see in the photos. This piece would be a great conversation piece for an office or home. Approximate Measurements: Length 7 inches. Vintage Garcia Conolon Custom 2716-D medium action fast taper two piece casting rod made in the USA. The rod is rated for 8-15 pound test line and 3/8-5/8 oz lures. It is in excellent condition and looks unused. It has a beautiful brown finish with gold guides. The gold aluminum case needs some help. The original pads are gone. The end caps need to be re glues and one end needs some tweaking so that it will close easily and not have to be pressed hard. Other than that it is in great shape. This is a very unusual rod, like one of a kind that I have never seen before.
