The cylinder, piston and head are of cast iron bar stock; and the flywheel is of mild steel. The engine is air cooled by fan(belt driven or electric) although it will also operate without one. Spark advance/retard is adjustable while the engine is running. The carburetor is an easy to build type with adjustable speed control and an air cleaner. The engine will run an hour or so on 2 ounces of fuel. You will need a 6" lathe and a small milling machine with a 6" diameter rotary table. This engine should be as easy for beginners to build as any. And easier than most because the engine frame is so simple. The model runs from 500 RPM idle to around 1.800 RPM or so wide open and the sound is real nice with the right exhaust pipe at about 800 RPM. Etched & Cut Lead Crystal Styled Chalice w/Gold Plated Footed & Marble Base
Up for auction is a very beautiful lead crystal decorative chalice with a gold plated stem and feet placed on a marble base joined together with a rod and screw that runs through the center of the piece. It is a lavish piece as the crystal chalice has wheel cut leaves and stems and an etched rose on either side of it and a nice cut crystal background pattern on it too(pictured#1 rose& 2 background pattern and pictured#3& 4 repeats itself on either side) The stem and footed legs are solid brass with 22K gold plating on them and are more brilliant than my camera could capture. The legs and feet rest on a piece of real white marble that forms the base of this piece. There is also a piece of felt on the underside so that this item does not scratch your table(pictured#5) The chalice measures 8 1/4" tall X 5 1/2" at its widest ... morepoint X 5 1/4" in diameter around the rim. The marble base measures 4" X 4" square. And this piece is in'mint' condition. Base meas. 10" by 10" I am calling the base green stone, not sure exactly what it is. It does have a couple of chips on it, pictured for you. The lamp is brass plated. Really has a nice look! Very classy and decorative. Cord is approx. 9" long. Lamp adjusts from 67" to 73" at the tallest point. The candle looking sleeves for the lights have some damage, parts of the dripping missing. Vtg-Antique 22Kt Gold Plated B.S. and Co. New York Marble Lamp Measures 14 to 15 inches tall with the adjustable finial extender at the lowest point. The finial piece measures 4 1/4 inches when removed from the stand. The marble is green with great variations. It could use more cleaning but has no damage. Only one side of the two-part lamp lights up. One of the light-bulb sockets is missing its outer cover and one of the pull chains is missing its end piece. The candlestick-look cover on one side of the lamp has been cut shorter and is cracked. The base looks pretty but the base and the feet are slightly bent. There is some wear to the gold finish. This spill/font ring/crown and base are an exact MATCH to each other.decorated with the same flowers.perfect for your special lamp! They are made of brass-plated cast iron and retain good original plating which is still shiny.there is some old polish residue on the base. This particular spill ring is found on parlor lamps by Consolidated Lamp& Glass.dates c. 1900. The overall diameter of the ring is 8 5/8" with the standard 5 1/8" opening. The overall condition is excellent. Please note that there appears to be a"chipped petal" on one of the flowers on the spill ring. However it was cast that way and the plating covers this edge.a manufacturing flaw, not damage. This is a nice piece of mid century modern design from Milbern Creations. Based in New Jersey. They created a great line of products that embodied the sleek and sexy side of this design aesthetic. This piece is a long chrome tray with a teak"block" stand. Can be used for a variety of uses, serving food or for a candle display, what ever you can create. Tray is 13" long x 1 1/2" high. I would say in fair to midland vintage condition. There is some scratching on the tray and some wearing around the middle where the block is attached to tray. This would be a nice introductory piece into mid century modern home design.
