This Star heater has been carefully brought back to its original luster. It is fully functional and all it needs is the tubular funnel section to complete it. I would not bother though. It would look better as a large chimney lamp. Just use you imagination on fitting it with possibly a 8" straight chimney with shade, or possibly a shade ring, 14" shade and large chimney for drug store hanging lamp. Description this is a rather nice quality silver plated five branch candelabra to classic design on a hexagonal base. Victorian 7 Piece Footed Ruby Glass Berry Set With Silver Plated Base c.1860
You are bidding on a stunning Victorian ruby glass 7 pieces berry set with silver plated stems. The master berry bowl is 8 1/2" tall and 8 1/2" diameter. The 6 berry cups are 3 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" diameter. These pieces have a lovely cut out rim and are fitted on a silver plated fluted base. This is a rare set and we have not been capable of finding any similar examples. We believe this to be English dating from circa 1860. There is no makers mark. There is some condition issues that are minimal and do not deter from the beauty of this set. The master bowl detaches from the base as it should be. The berry cups have been fixed in with some sort of old plaster. The master bowl has a flake chip on the outer rim and a few very small nicks also on the upper rim. It also show some utensil marks. Up for auction is this lovely pot It's in really good condition overall. No signs of damage over the ceramic body which looks great still It has a rounded shape. The main body has a glossy white glaze to the inside and on the outside is decorated with a lovely hand painted Japanese imari pattern consisting of cobalt blues, iron reds and gold guilding- this has worn in places but still looks great The rim and lid are silver plated. The lid being decorated with a lovely holly leaf design. Slight evidence of ware around the rim but it shines up beautifully. It is fresh to the market and is quite a rare one. You don't see these very often, especially in this condition. It is a no. 210 made by the Dodge Scale Company of Boston. Mass. The last patent date is 1917. Measures about 13" long by 9 1/4" tall overall. It has a nickel plated cast iron base and frame with a marble platform. The pan. Twist knob and graduated counterweight are nickel plated brass. It weighs in at over 15 lbs. This scale has an unusual screw type mechanism for adding counter weight. Here we have a good antique Victorian wine coaster. There are no makers marks as such but there is an inscription in ink to the base. The piece was recently bought from a renowned auctioneer and catalogued as Victorian. Having handled several in the pass I can say that it is definitely from the 19th century and is clearly silver plated as there are a few signs of wear as you would expect with a functional Victorian piece. It has an oak base and the original green velvet to the bottom. Where these used to be slid across the table. They had these to protect the table from damage. The base diameter is just over 13 cms and it stands 6 cms in height. It weighs 211 grammes. There are no dings etc. Just the aforementioned light wear to the plate. A good. But most Gretsch dealers sold these stands as a low-cost alternative to the more expensive Gretsch hardware. Many vintage Gretsch drumsets come to me with these Dewey cymbal stands. As you can see my pictures. These stands are in good, fully functional condition, but there is quite a bit of tarnishing on both assemblies. You will also find a small amount of surface rusting as well on each stand. I have installed new rubber insulators on each cymbal tilter assembly.
