This bottle is in great condition with no chips, cracks. I think the lid is bakelite. The bottom is a crackled glass. unique haven't seen any others with this kind of bottom on ebay. There is no cracks or chips but the bottom does show age and signs of use hopefully you can see that in the pics. what you see in the pics is exactly what you will get.This is a great chance to own a truly rare piece of medical history. Large 24Oz. Blue/Green apothecary POISON bottle with penny stopper. And paper lable. Marked on the bottom with the number 24 over the letter W, with a dash in between the two but not sure of the maker, looks to have been a two piece mold has a seam that splits the bottle in half long ways. This bottle contained AMMONIA WATER 26° Produced by Mallinckrodt Chemical Works. The l abel is about 90% intact the bottle still has some light residue even after several cleanings. No chips or cracks on the bottle or stopper. Bottle stands nearly 8 5/8in. tall& 9 3/4 with the stopper in. And 3 1/4in. in dia. Great addition to your collection. PLEASE look over all the pictures carefully. I have made them large so that you may see the items condition. I have described everything including what I think are relevant flaws as best I can. As best guess, but collectors may know for certain A vintage glass tube vial or bottle with original cork stopper still containing a few scraps of the original litmus paper strips– Mallinckrodt– Mallinckrodt Chemical Works– St. Louis. Montreal, Philadelphia, New York– Label design U.S. Patent Office The top of the label near the cork states: 5-1 printed in U.S.A. 4-51. My best guesstimate is that this piece dates to April 1951. If I am reading the labeling correctly. However, it could be older- It has a paper label. This little tube evidently originally held 100 strips. There are now just portions of 4– maybe one full and 3 partials. The glass tube bottle or vial measures approx. 2 3/8ths inches without the cork– with the cork. ... moreThe entire piece measures approx. 2 3/4ths inches. The diameter of the base measures approx. ½ an inch Condition: glass is lovely without any clouding. Label is still vrey good- all text very legible- does have some light edge wear and some light age toning. The cork still works well– can open and close but does show a split on the top. As stated. Here is a unique opportunity to bid. WITHOUT RESERVE, on a guaranteed genuine, c1890-1900 One Pound MALLINCKRODT SODIUM PYROPHOSPHATE Bottle which dates to the late 1800s or very early 1900s. This brown glass, unembossed bottle, complete with it's original paper labels, original cork, and partial contents, measures 4 1/2" x 2" Diameter. Worth taking a minute or two to view the supersized images. As you can see from the scans, the bottle is in very good to excellent condition. Absolutely no chips or cracks. The"whitish" material in the scans is a remnant powder on the scanning deck from a previous scan. The two original paper labels are still there. They are a little darker than they appear in the scans.
