NICE OLD FARM ROPE PULLEY
This is a nice old farm rope pulley. It has a metal frame with a swivel and a wooden sheave. The total length of the pulley and sheave is 11 1/2 inches. The sheave has a diameter of 5 3/4 inches. Both the frame and the shreave are in excellent condition. The sheave has several tight age cracks but is still in good working condition. This a nice decorative piece for your home or office.

Every now and then you find something great. But you aren't quite sure what it is. WELL That's me. I found this great string. Twine, rope what ever holder. It appears to be a pulley system of some kind. The holder is wooden and has two handles that spin as you turn them. There is a green belt that holds down your rope. The holder is about 16 inches X 8 1/2 inches not including the handles. This would be a great thing for your Christmas tree light. e-mail with questions. I think the rope is cotton.

This is a nice set of Blocks and Tackle. They are in good working condition. But the smaller pulley has some damage on the one side, but would still display very nicely and the pulleys system still works fine. Made by THE CANADA BLOCK CO. St. CATHARINES ONT. The pulleys total length are a good 12 inches. Not sure if it is barn or marine from the Great Lakes. Comes with a really long line of thick rope. It is a heavy item. Real nice rope pulley mounted in a wood frame. Has an old swivel chain at the top. Looks like it was painted at some time. Pulley is about 11" in dia. and 1" wide. When hanging it is about 19" long. Wood frame has a slice off of one side and an age crack. Both can be seen in the photos. Pulley has 5 spokes and all are in very good condition. Overall the frame and pulley are in very good. Mr. Walton and Mr. Upson joined as business partners in 1871 and incorporated in 1893. They were ship chandlers and grocers in the beginning. Wire rope, tackle blocks, and rope fittings from this company were sold world-wide. The company operated the only rope mill in Ohio. One pulley is triple and stained a beautiful. Sea-green. old strong and tough boat anchor rope made of unknown material could be used for other projects too. 104 feet long weighs around 13 lbs see scale on pictures when using a clothe/tailor tape measure. The roundness( circumference) on the rope is 2 1/2 inches this rope is in used condition but still decent. no major wear anywhere. however. Was not tested for an actual job before listing some areas look lighter brownish while other look darker brown with some old dirt stains and. one end is sealed with wire. While other is open. when working with it.
