Vintage Italian Pottery - Rooster pulling a Cart - Hand Painted Unusual Piece
Handsome hand painted and numbered piece from 1940s or earlier. I was unable to find a piece exactly like this and I think it's fairly rare. The glaze is worn off on the beak and a little on the crest. There is an interesting"dappled" texture created with the paint in gray. Underlying all the other colors. It's quite beautiful and collectible! It's approximately 7 1/2" long, 3 7/8" wide and 2 7/8" high.

He never finished the project before he passed away. He was making them for my mother for a flower cart that was to sit on the back patio. He used a router to cut the holes and cut the lip of the wheel edge. The wheels are nine inches across and the road surface is about two inches wide. The slits are about two inches. One wheel has some cracks which gives it character. One wheel has dark stain spots on the outer edge. If you dress them up by sanding a little you'll have a one of a kind set.not mass produced. These were a labor of love. His plan was to paint them white and the cart sky blue. Handmade wooden toy tractor and cart that is painted green and yellow like a John Deere. The measurements of the tractor are 6-1/2 inches long. 3-1/2 inches wide and 5 inches tall. The cart is 9 inches long, 3 inches wide and 3-1/2 inches tall. The cart and tractor, together, are 15-1/2 inches long. I encourage all wooden toy and farm toy collectors to bid on this item.
