The Bull Durham is unopened, tagged, stamped& I think from the 1950's from the other similar ones that have sold like it& it looks really nice. The Top Rolling Machine is in outstanding shape as are the vintage Top and Tip Top rolling paper packs as well& they still have plenty of papers in them. Those packs look great. The Acts Between the Little Cigars is a little rough but has a great antique look as does the other M. Melachirino& Co. tin. Hope you enjoy the bundle. How he came to be buried in Berlin is a mystery to me, unless he was a Prisoner of War, which is not mentioned on his burial record. The medal is named: 2606 Pte. E.F. Pattinson. Durh. L.I. The CWGC site shows him as a Corporal with two recorded serial numbers- the one on his medal. And 300350. His name was Edward Fidler Pattinson. And he was aged 28 at his death. This piece comes from the West Pasture Mine. Stanhope, Weardale, County Durham, England. Its comprised of intergrown transparent light green colored fluorite crystals growing with quartz on a brown limeonite matrix with excellent internal edge phantoms and fluorite crystals reaching 1.1 cm in maximum diameter. The fluorite crystals are a very unusual color for English fluorite. And the excellent deeper blue-green edge phantoms on some of the crystals are really cool, especially when viewed under a hand lens. It measures 5.5 x 3.5 x 2.7 cm in size. The West Pastures Vein is an eastern branch of the Red Vein, and work on the West Pasture may have been related to activity at the Stanhopeburn Mine. An Original Poem. Printed and Published by Bowman, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. No date but circa 1850. 6 by 3 3/4 inches. 24 pages including the title page and the advert page. Complete. Paper booklet. No stitching to the pages. This chapbook has nicks to the spine edge where stitching will have held it with other chapbooks. Chapbooks were often bought separately. From chapmen or'hawkies' on the ... morestreet, and bound together later. The first page(title page) and last page are joined to form the wrapper of the chapbook. The left edge(spine side) is split half way along from bottom. Some of the double page sections are loose. As is common with chapbooks the printing is quite poor quality, but legible. The top margin of page five has an overlap(production flaw) which has been folded over, no text affected though. The foredge of page 13/14 is still connected to the foredge of page 14/15, i.e. still uncut from time of production. The foredge of the first two pages of the Kow'd Lad of Hilton are also still attached. These uncut foredges could be carefully sliced open, with a sharp scalpel, but I shall leave this to the purchaser. Some occasional slight creases, contents age toned but clean. This auction is for a Lot of 14 Vintage Durham Industries Miniatures. There is a rocker. Water pump, sewing machine, school desk, lantern, wash bucket with wash board, potbelly stove and more. These do show some age and have a few issues. The light has a small crack in the white shade, the phonograph may have had a record on it but it is not here, there is some age spotting and a couple have a white color that is also from age.
