As pictured. This is Ted Fletcher's 5 channel"P5" optical compressor. Has 1 stereo and 3 mono compressors all flavored in the tradition of the legendary Meek SC-2. While housed in a single 1-unit rack. When he sold the Joe Meek name to Harman he started a more high end line of gear called"TFPro" Not widely known here in the States, but a big name in the UK. These sound AWESOME and are stupidly affordable for a kit of 5 optical compressors. Aside from the Stereo pair. You have the option of linking each of the mono compressors to the Stereo pair's ratio, attack, and release, parameters. Works killer for drums to slam your stereo OH's with channels 1&2, and then run your kick through channel 3 linked to 1&2's detector, but if you back off the input gain on the kick it will compress more mildy, giving ... moreyou a good thump, but breathing along to the OH's. It's a pretty cool feature. Also GREAT for layering harmonies/backup vocals, they'll compress identically but you have individual controls on the levels of each group. And works well blending multiple guitar tracks together too, in the same way. The input and makeup gains are independent to each channel, but you can link the compression parameters. And for those into Surround Sound mixing there's a dedicated mono"sub out" that sums all the sub frequencies into a single mono output- just a really well thought out box) Really a great piece of kit. Wunder Audio PAFour Plus 4 channel preamp, NEW CONDITION
For sale is a Wunder Audio PAFour Plus 4 channel preamp. This is one of the best bang for the buck preamps out there. I prefer these to 1272's on almost every application. And those cost almost twice as much per channel. Having the high pass filter is also very useful on many sources. The DI is also amazing, and my favorite for bass and keyboards. I wanted an amp I could easily install and remove when my P5 was returned. I had pretty low expectations but was totally blown away with the sound quality and presence of this amp. I listened to almost all my concert videos and a few movies without ever missing the P5 or noticing degradation in any part of the audio spectrum. It was different for sure. But in a way softer and more natural. I did replace it when I got my P5 back but kept it around for a while. Hoping to find a place for it in my system. Unfortunately, I need to fund another purchase so the Rotel must go. It’s in great shape cosmetically with a few minor blems here and there that you really need to look for to ... moresee. I just tested all channels and functions and it performs like when I bought it from my Rotel dealer. Listing for $2000. Rotel publishes a spec of 6 x 100 WPC into all channels simultaneously. If you do some research online. You’ll find it measures out much higher. It’s a class D amplifier that uses ICE technology(a proprietary design developed by Bang& Olufsen) It affords much less energy loss in the signal amplification process. As a result. The amp runs very cool and the sound(to my ear) is more clean and distinct. Granted, this is truer in the mids and highs but it makes a difference across the entire audio spectrum.
