Vintage MSA All Service Gas Mask with suit case type box. This is the last of these that I have. The others which were nearly identical were marked received 10-7-46, but this one has no received date. The patent date on the mask is 11-1-1921. Does not ever appear to have been used. Looks to be in great condition, but I wouldn't think it's servicable any longer it's far too old and out dated. One of the rubber straps is broken from age, but all the pieces are in the box. I bought it with a large lot of fire department surplus I bought back about 1989. And it's been on the shelf ever since. Would be an interesting item to have in your old firetruck. Ambulance, rescue truck or police car. The number 275 written on the box is crayon from the auction. I will let you remove it if you desire. It has quite a few signs of use as you'd expect from something used at a fire department. But I didn't see any damage that should really affect use. I believe they were just upgrading equipment. I put the whole system on, and was able to buckle everything. I also put the mask on and and was not able to breathe properly through it with the air from the tank. I believe this is because of a small leak between the tank and the first twist on part. All of the straps and the buckle for the harness seem okay and have the normal wear. Well-maintained. Used MSA Advantage 1000 Air Purifying Respirator(APR) or gas mask, if you prefer. Mask is in very good used condition with excellent flexibility in the rubber and visor. Straps are intact and fully functional nylon webbing with six adjustment points. The filters shown are for illustration purposes and are not re-usable; these have long since expired and just opening the package activates the filters. I'll include the expended filters in the sale as buyers will be mostly interested in this item as a collectible. I make no warranties as to suitability for use.
