Wilton 1745 Tradesman 4 1/2 inch Vise swivel base
Up for sale is a Wilton Tradesman 1745 vise. It has 4 1/2 inch jaws and a swivel base. Vise is in great condition. I mounted the vise to a bench but never actually used it. The only two slight defects are a slight spot of the coating rubbed off during shipping and the handle is slightly bent from shipping to me as well. Other than that. Wilton #840 Bullet Vise - 4 Inch
This is a Wilton 4 inch bullet vise with swivel base that has a locking arm on each side. I found it at an estate sale. It is used and does have some dings and dents but works great. The teeth are in good condition but the one on the stationary jaw has been welded on. I assume the screw holes were stripped out. Vise has been repainted. One side of vise says: Wilton Chicago, USA and the other side says: Wilton Chicago, USA and 840 WE.

Greeting Wilton Vise lovers and wannabe owners! Up for auction is a vintage monster HEAVY DUTY Wilton machinists/ mechanics bench vise. This vintage piece of Americas industrial heritage was made in Schiller Park. Illinois U. S. A It weighs 69 lbs, has 4 1/2' jaws.Opens to a span of a little over 8' and is 20' long overall when closed! It has a massive swivel base that is 9' wide in the front and narrows to 8' in the back and is about 8' long. This vise opens and closes smoothly and the jaws line up as they should. The only disappointment was when I flipped it over. The inner ring of the swivel base has 3 cracks in it and it should be replaced in order to safely rotate the vise. see pic) This seems to be common with these as I see them for sale quite often without the base.It's fine in the stationary position.But ... morethe inner ring is readily available to allow it to rotate. Please look closely at the attached photo's as they provide a good idea overall physical condition. I would prefer local pick up on this item but will ship it at the buyers expense. Greeting Wilton Vise lovers and future owners! Up for auction is a vintage 69 lb monster HEAVY DUTY Wilton machinists bench vise.With a new pair of Wilton copper jaw covers! This vintage piece of Americas industrial heritage was made in Schiller Park. Illinois U. S. A It measures 20' long overall when closed! weighs in at 69 lbs, has 4 1/2' jaws.Opens to a span of a little over 8' It has a massive swivel base that is 9' wide in the front and narrows to 8' in the back and is about 8' long. This vise opens and closes smoothly and the jaws line up as they should. The only disappointment was when I flipped it over. The inner ring of the swivel base has 3 cracks in it and it should be replaced or repaired in order to rotate the vise smoothly. see pic) This seems to be common with these as I see them for sale quite often ... morewithout the base.It's fine in the stationary position.But the inner ring is readily available to allow it to rotate. Super old Wilton Vise Rare Estate sale find. I recently bought this from an estate straight out of an old barn. The jaws measures 3-5/8" wide. The vise measures 14" long. 16" if you count to the end of the turning rod. When jaws open the clamping area gets at least 5.25" plus. This is old and shows wear so I took many pictures. It's operates great though. There are 2 numbers on this unit and wasn't sure which one to go by. The side of the vise says 101166 and the bottom of the vise says 10188. This weighs roughly 50 lbs. Up for auction is this pre-owned vintage Wilton Machinist Bullet bench mounting vise#60176#101164. It measures 18" long when completely closed. 10" high, and 8" wide at the base. This heavy duty swivel vise that weighs 92 lbs. It has a very large Anvil for your big projects. Everything is in excellent working condition and functions properly. It opens and closes smoothly and easily(with no slop) and the jaws press evenly together. The jaws are replaceable serrated 5" x 2" wide and will open at least 8" The swivel base is in great working order and locks down tight, with two lock down bolts. There is no cracks, breaks, or weld repairs on this monster. Because this vise is used, There is some obvious wear that will have no affect on use and is purely cosmetic. Y ou will see some nicks. Scratches, surface rust, ... moreloss of paint, over-spray with other general wear. I believe this vise had been repainted at some point. To find a vise this nice and clean from this era is highly unusual. It is manufactured in the USA. Schiller Park, Illinois(very rare) not like the Chicago later productions. From the information gathered from the internet, I believe that it dates around 1941-43 production. There's nothing to disappoint you here. If you end up with this vise you will be very happy. I really don't think you're going to find another giant vise like this one on eBay. I looked and couldn't find another. I had to make two special shipping container to divide up the weight. You will have some easy assembly once received. Obviously this won't be cheap to ship. The bare vise weighs 92 pounds and that's before packaging. Description This 2-87 Wilton bullet is nice. This bigger bullet was cleaned. Lubed and painted a close Wilton color sometime ago. It was missing the rear dust cap and shimmed the collar to take all the slack out. Travel is smooth and easy. I decided to leave on the original jaws since they were still crisp and align up perfect. The slight discoloration on the channel slide is just from it sitting most of the summer. Operation is nice and smooth, it swivels easily and locks down tight. WILTON HOBBY VISE # 1113 - AMERICAN MADE - PRICED 2 SELL
Found at an estate sale and just passing it along. The Wilton# 1113 hobby vise is used but still a lot of life left in this one. It has a 2" wide jaw and extends out 2 1/2" A few small issues in that the handle is rather bent and there are file marks to the top. The jaw still closed tight and in fact it operates with ease. WILTON VISE 400S, 4" JAN, 1980 IN FLAWLESS CONDITION
In Jan. 1980 this Wilton 400S was rolling out of its plant in Schiller Pk. Charles Vogel who was president of Wilton had great foresight. He knew Wilton tool would not grow unless they diversify into related lines of tooling. By 1980 Wilton was distributing not only vises that they made. But drill presses, sanders, grinders, lathes, etc. Most if all was being made abroad besides, Wilton had been making their utility vises in China for a few years already. Almost all that equipment is made today under the"Jet" name. It is my belief that Wilton and a Company called Tacoma tools owned by one of the founding fathers of Boeing who later named his company"Jet" went to bed together and both came out owned today by WMH company. Onto this beauty. Guys, I usually take more photos then I need and obviously show those in the best ... morelighting. This original 400S shows so well I posted all the photos. It glows from the suburb condition its in. I've had this vise on the floor for years, if fact, I had borrowed the jaws off of it and could not remember when. I fitted this vise with new OE Wilton serrated jaws and as you can see fit perfect. This 34 year vise was used, no question. I took out the normal side play by shimming the keyway reducing it to zero and I replaced one finger saver along with lightly freshening up the anvil. I gave it a quick external cleaning, checking the base, lockdown handles and spindle, all of which are in excellent condition. Operation is smooth and everything about this vise says its a keeper. Wilton 600 N Machinist 6" Vise 600N Almost Perfect HUGE Vise Weighs 132lbs
Wilton 600 N Heavy Duty Stationary Vise-Vise is dated 5/77. The pictures may not show clearly but it is stamped twice with the dates 5/77-Vise has been completed degreased. Cleaned, primed and painted with Rust Oleum Hammered Light Blue-Several coats of hammered were used and has been curing for about 2 months.its hard as a rock-Grease used is Lucas heavy duty synthetic grease-I also added some anti-seize to make the action silky smooth-Does have some real life. Actual hammer marks but does not affect the performance at all-The casting during these years was not as smooth as the castings today. The pictures may show some marks but this is how the castings are. I took it down to bare metal and noticed a lot of imperfections from the castings-Opens and closes nice. Tight, straight and smooth. Amazingly light considering the dynamic jaw is so ... moreheavy-Jaws line up perfectly. The removable jaws will need some truing on a mill. I sanded them some to clean them up but they need to be machined to be perfect. They function fine as is though-Threads on jaws have been chased with a tap and allen bolts with a die-The anvil on the back is almost perfect. Very few hammer marks there-Ready for 100+ years of use! I cut off the original handle to make a longer one but it is included if you wish. Its not bent just shorter than I prefer and never got around to making the longer handle before buying a C3 which im keeping instead of this vise. This vise weighs 132 lbs Local pick up only but can work with your shipper if you arrange the shipping. I can box and crate at no extra charge.
