Here's an versatile vintage Bench Vise by Wilton. 3.5 Inch wide Jaws and 3 Inch gap. Mounted vise can be swiveled to accommodate the job at hand. The jaws also have accommodation for pipe. Only noticeable damage is that one of the bolt holes is partially cut or broken off. Looks like it has sufficient amount of the area left to allow bolting it down. Please see pictures! Up for auction is this fully restored Wilton triple duty utility bench vise. This vise has been completely taken apart. Stripped and cleaned. Checked for damage or repairs. Found none. Parts to be painted were heated to 110 degrees. Given 3 coats of metallic blue and titanium silver paint. All moving parts have been lubricated before assembling. Vise is in excellent working condition. Opens and closes smoothly and with ease. One finger operation. Jaws close square and tight. Swivel base operates with ease. This vise has a unique feature. After you open the vise one turn you can just pull the slide out by hand to the desired spacing and then when you start to close it the spindle/ slide reengages and it will draw in normally. Vintage Wilton swivel vise 3-1/2 jaw & 4 inch open # 653 -1/2 anvil pipe jaws
Wilton 3-1/2 jaw vise and 4 inch opening it opened to all most 4-1/2 before it stopped but it will call it a 4 inch opening. It has the a vil never been struck with a hammer and no saw marks. The vise steel jaws are in perfect condition like never used. No saw marks and no hammer marks and no drill marks.The tuning bars are perfectly straight with no hammer marks.Some minor rust from sitting around all these years.The turning screw is perfect like new.I really don't see much of any use on this vise.I have not painted or cleaned it.

Made by Wilton in 1970's in U.S.A. Model number 594 according to various web pages. Great shape. Shows very little use. All I did was to wipe this piece down. That's the original paint on it. Has 4"x2" smooth jaws. Also included is the 4" removable hardened steel jaws and the removable hardened steel pipe jaws which have a 1/4"2-1/2" capacity, and the original hang tag which I have shown pictures of in this listing for reference. Condition wise. The only damage or wear I see is what appears to be two small(1/8" hammer dings to the right side of the front jaw(not the face) and what appears to be a file groove on the face of one of the removable jaws. Very nice Wilton Baby Bullet vise with 2 inch wide jaws. Has been repainted by a past owner. Year stamped on the vise is 5-47 which is either the date of manufacture or supposedly the date of expiration of the warranty as claimed on some websites. Vise is in excellent working condition. One screw is broken off holding the ring on. Slight bend in tightening handle. Jaws show little use and no abuse. This vise would be great to use as is or for a great restoration project as it would need miminal work.

Vintage Prentiss Bench Vise ~1890 1.75" Jaws 2 Lbs. Baby Wilton Size USA Made
Full Specs& Photos At Bottom Of Page. Long before Wilton manufactured their 2" baby vise another premier US vise maker offered one for sale. I'm talking about a very small. Detail vise that was built to the quality of a large vise. This hen's tooth here was sold by Prentiss, a name anybody interested in vises will immediately recognize. I can't tell you the exact date it was manufactured but if you look at the photos below in the last one you can see a scanned page from their 1890 catalog. This exact vise is on the lower right corner of the page. One point, minor but worth mentioning in my opinion, is that the three primary body pieces are all stamped 106. This is an indexing number for using matched sets during assembly. This indicates that these are the original parts and none of have been replaced. I can't imagine ... moretoo many of these remaining survivors don't have a matched set but still, it's nice to know. Other than the baby-vise size. Two features of this vise really got my attention. One, obviously, is the pivoting rear jaw. Lift out the pin and the rear jaw pivots to firmly hold work with uneven sides. This seemingly simple feature comes in very handy when you need it and makes it one of the rarest vise finds you could hope to come across when combined with the small size. These just don't come up for sale, I've been buying vises for a decade now and I've never seen one like it. How many of these could have been sold in the first place? How many survived? Not many I'm betting. The other aspect of this vise which earned my interest is its weight. That doesn't sound like a big deal but, like a big vise, it's heavy for its size. When you go to lift it your brain doesn't expect it to weigh what it does. Not that's an anchor at under two pounds but, because of the size, that pound and a half feels like a lot. This early Wilton#3 bullet vise with swivel base is in superb condition! Much of the original paint remains. I had it all apart and there are no cracks. There are no mechanical problems. It functions perfectly. The jaws are in great condition and close up squarely. The jaws adjust in and out very smoothly with one finger. The jaws are removable if it ever becomes necessary to replace them. The"bullet" or cap end of the vise is dented. It could probably be worked out without a lot of trouble if it bothers you. The male and female threads of the screw and screw housing are in excellent condition. After I removed the screw I put some grease on it. The photo of the screw is before I greased it. Vintage 1979 Wilton Combination Swivel Bench Vise, 5" Jaws, 48 Lbs. Made In USA
Full specs at the bottom of listing. If I had to describe this vise in one word it would be burly. It offers up a strikingly muscular pose. It's quite a solid vise that's meant to take a beating and keep on going as it has for 36 years already. Later. I believe, Wilton began manufacturing these overseas. This is one of the original, USA made vises which might be important to you. It's constructed of 60,000 PSI cast iron just like Wilton's top end vises. The quality is here and you can feel it. The action is smooth and consistent all the way through the jaw's travel. It feels and works like any top end vise. I've had the opportunity to fiddle around with a new one at the hardware store and there's no doubt in my mind that the originals feel smoother to operate, made to tighter tolerances and are all around better ... morevises. On the new one the slide would jiggle around considerably inside the body when you opened and closed it making an audible clunking sound with every handle rotation. This one feels much better to me in that regard even after several decades of use. It looks nice today but needed some work to get there. It was dirty. Old looking and ugly when it came into my hands so refinishing it was a no brainer. The vise was completely disassembled, every part, and then it was given a warm, soapy bath to get started. What was left of the old finish was then chemically stripped using aviation gel stripper and a stint in my electrolysis tank. The steel parts were also cleaned to look and function nice. I was able to inspect everything at this point and found no structural damage, cracks or repairs. It does have a few dings here and there, typical work marks, that you would expect to find in any vise that's seen use. The handles were bent so I straightened them. They aren't perfect but good enough to get the job done and I don't believe they'll bother you any. It's hard to say what the original color was by looking at it but I think it may have been gray. This is a set of original mid 40's Wilton jaws that came from a No. 4 bullet vise. Jaws are 3.5 inches wide. The jaws have their original pins with them. One jaw shows more edge wear than the other but they are both in good usable condition.please examine all the close up pics for condition. Original pins.one of the pins is stuck in the jaw and the other one is free.the stuck one could bne hammered out if you do not need it. Comes with 4 screws that fit these jaws and are correct for a mid 40s number 4 vise. THe screws are new. Measurements 3.5 x.75 x.5 inches. Nice set for restoring your number 4 bullet. The screw holes are approximately ... more2 and 3/8th inches from center of hole to center of hole.may fit other Wilton vises that require a 3.5 inch jaw. These are VERY hard to find. Especially one in this condiiton. Its not rusted at all, movement is great, very tight( no play, not stiff) the jaws look great( not chipped, worn etc etc) VERY nice looking. Sure the finish is old looking, its a very old vise. This is a solid vintage vise by a very reputable and collectible maker. It has a 3 1/2" jaw that opens up and closes with ease. It opens to about 5" It also has the highly desired swivel base. There has not been any attempt to clean this whatsoever. Many people do that to make them more attractive or appear to have less use. These were meant to do work with as this one has(but not abused either) This really is a solid piece. There will be no reserve so you be the judge of its worth.
