Reed# 31 vise. Great vintage condition! No cracks or welds on this one, Jaws line up perfecty and you can open and close it with one finger. Smooth action. Vice has 3-1/2 in. jaws, weight is aprox. 45 lbs. Not sure of it's age but I bet it's pushing 100 years pretty closely! This vise came off a work bench in the basement of a local house. Vintage Pritzlaff 3-1/2" Vise made in Milwaukee, WI (Restored) Vice Chevy Blue
Here's an old Pritzlaff 3-1/2" Vise which was made in Milwaukee. WI. I cannot determine any exact time frame from when the vise was manufactured, but it's old and its nicely designed. It's very nicely made and has been restored by me. During the restoration all the original slight hammer marks were removed using a rol-loc disk before being hand-filed and sanded smooth. I then sandblasted the main vise components except for the screw and vise handle. The jaw faces were also trued with a hand file and they mate together very nicely. The edges of the jaws were also trued to one another so that there is no overlap or sloppy fitment. Once everything was cleaned up I masked off the jaws, and handle and screw before etch-priming and spraying Chevrolet Blue and clear-coated afterwards. I polished up the bare surfaces which allows ... moreyou to see the nice work surface the jaws and anvil will provide the new owner. Superb Large 5" 61LB Peter Wright Blacksmith Post Leg Vise Anvil Tool NICE
This heavy duty high quality leg vise is in very nice condition! It's a Peter Wright. The famous anvil maker. It has 5" wide jaws. It weighed in at 65 pounds on my scale. The jaws show very little wear and close up squarely. There are no ugly chips. The tightening bar is straight. The vise works smoothly. The heavy platform that bolts to your bench is wedged properly. The spring works like it should. There are no cracks. It took me a long time to notice but you'll see the flared out protrusion at the bottom of the jaw is broken off on the side with the screw socket(see photos) It's old and shouldn't affect it's use. The leg or vertical post is straight. I like how the leg is plenty heavy so it can take some pounding with no worries about it buckling. The screw socket has a beautiful turned look, more detail than you're ... moreaverage leg vise. There is still some dried old grease sticking to the inner threads but they appear to be in excellent condition. The threads are square and not worn down. Furthermore, the threads go much deeper than even a lot of really good post vises. It opens and closes smoothly through the range however it should have fresh grease before being used. If you want me to do that let me know and I will grease it. I left it ungreased so you could better see the condition of the threads. The vise measures about 40 1/2" tall overall. The screw housing is marked"P. WRIGHT/PATENT/SOLID BOX" on three lines. It works great and I think it will last another 100+ years if you keep it greased and don't abuse it. Examples of abuse would be using it as a press, sliding a pipe on the tightening bar for more leverage, trying to clamp something far too large with only a couple of threads engaged, pretty common sense stuff. For sale is a vintage Will-Burt Co. Versa Vise. The design allows vise to be mounted vertically or horizontally on the base mounting shaft and then it locks into position when the jaws are tightened. The vise opens to 4-3/4" between the 3-1/2" W x 2-1/4" deep jaws. The vise is in good used condition with no chips or cracks. The tensioner set-screw moves freely and will need to be adjusted when the vise has been mounted. It's been sitting on a shelf for awhile and it has some surface rust on the bare metal parts and were the red finish has worn away. The oval decal with the"The Will-Burt Co Versa-Vise Orville" logo has worn off the side of the vise. There are some saw marks on top of the jaws.

It needs a replacement set of jaw pads, easily purchased here on eBay. One jaw pad is missing. This is a good. Strong American made vise. It is just the right size for a medium duty home shop vise. Vintage 6 " Bench Top Vise with 2 " Jaws
Vintage Bench Vise in very clean smooth operating condition. Can clamp onto a bench or board up to 1" thick. Jaws are 2" wide and opens to 2 3/4" wide. Has an anvil great for small machinits or jewelry projects. Probably from the 30's and most likely made in the USA but no markings found except the No. 5 stamped on the frame.
