The WELTY-WAY Econo-Shear is designed to automatically shear coiled material up to 4ft. wide and 18 gauge thickness. The machine runs at 30 feet per minute and shears lengths from 10 inches to 999 inches. It is powered by a self-contained hydraulic unit and requires only three-phase electrical power and 110V AC single-phase power. Once material is in the machine. Up for auction is an antique signed aqua colored sheared form. C. Vickers, London ink well recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia, PA area. It is found in good used condition, has the shape of a house or log cabin and includes two pen rests on the top of the bottle. The only condition issue to discuss is that this shear top has minor roughness on the opening, common on these antique bottles. There is some dirt inside of the bottle. 60" Custom Hydraulic Sheet Metal Shear
Your tax dollars at work.I have been told that this $80.000.00 custom shear was originally built for the U.S. Navy to cut perforated stainless steel sheets for submarines. Never used by the government and sold as surplus. Can't confirm the story but it is a nice piece of equipment. I bought it to start a company that didn't get off the ground. My best guess is that it will shear light gauge steel sheets(based on the heavy parts) but I can't say the exact thickness for sure because it is custom. Capacity is 4"x1/2" thick or 6"x5/16" flats and 3/4" solid rounds or square bars. Jaws are 7" deep and open 3" It still has the original hold-flat(that's the flat bar bolted to the side. It can be used as a vise to keep stock from lifting up or bending when cutting. This unit is bolted to a heavy angle iron floor stand/base and ready to work. Base measures 26" x 24" The knives have some nicks in the deep portion but can be sharpened. And Edwards sells new knives as well.
