This is an old ADRIANCE MACHINE WORKS 2 ton punch press. The stroke is 2-1/2 inches and the hole in the bed is 6 inches square. The press operates smooth by hand. The clutch works. The ways are snug and we could not detect any slop in the crank bearing. The press has been broken and repaired. We have not tested the motor but we believe it should be replaces. The auction is for an oldie but goodie punch press. Manufactured by Connecticut Yankees back in 1889. After a 125 year career, this press is still alive and in use even today. It could use a little cleaning up, and a larger motor-the present motor is only 1/6 HP and runs the press OK once it has started, but lacks sufficient torque to start it without a little help. Press and its cast iron stand weigh about 500 lbs. press alone is about 350. Press may be broken down into 3 pieces, the heaviest being about 250 lbs.
