Powermatic 100 12" Planer Chipbreaker - PM100 Parts
Up for sale is a chipbreaker from a Powermatic Model 100 12" Thickness Planer. Came from a donor planer that I rescued a number of years back. Had three coats of paint along with rust from sitting where it shouldn't have. The serial number on the machine is 5-7160 which puts it at a 1955 or so version. If I read the Powermatic serial number chart correctly. Because of the heavy rust and layers of paint I ran it through the sandblaster booth so I could see the underlying casting- No Dings. Cracks or Defects in the casting that I noticed. There are bunch of small tapped holes that were added over the years to secure dust hoods. they are plainly visible in the pictures. They don't effect the functionality and could be bondo'ed closed. I rinsed the casting with acetone. Heated it up and put one light coat of primer on it to keep ... moreit from getting rusty again while sitting on the shelf. If you are doing a high end restoration, you may want to restrip it and run it through electrolysis or re-blast it. It's heavy. At just under 20 lbs so shipping is not included in the purchase price.
