When purchased this was presented as a PEXTO Stake Anvil. However. It has no identifying marks on it so I cannot positively say it is a PEXTO but it sure does look like one.It is 40" long, 18-1/4" high and 2-1/2" wide and weighs in at. You are bidding on one Pexto. Or Peck, Stowe and Wilcox Company, wood gouge as pictured. It is marked"PEXTO MADE IN USA" in their logo on the neck. Width of the blade near the sharp end is about 15/16" as measured with calipers(farthest outside to farthest outside) And length of the steel portion(neck and blade) not including the wood handle is about 8-7/8" Condition of the steel portion is mostly very good. But there is some pitting on the inside all in the first 5/16" from the sharp edge, a tiny bit of pitting on the outside near the sharp edge, and some grinding marks(might be factory) on the outside farther up the blade. This listing is for 3 vintage draw knives. The Pexto has a 10" blade and looks good for the age. The Pexto knife has good solid handles and a nice sharp blade. The Pexto knife has some sanding scratches on the blade as well as some finish wear and scratches. The other two knives are antiques. These two knives do not have any visible trademarks. The smaller has a 8 1/2" blade. This smaller knife has a sharp blade but does have some overall wear which can be seen in the pictures. The large knife has a 7" blade. This knife has a crack in the steel which can be seen in the pictures. The handles are crude as well. This knife was a shelf sitter decorative item when we found it. Vtg PEXTO SEAM SETTING DOWN Hand Crank Tinsmiths Machine Crimping Tool NICE..!!!
Here I have a nice PEXTO SETTING DOWN MACHINE with original bench Standard(clamp) used by Tinsmiths. Fabricators. This particular machine follows the Burring Machine and crimps the edge of the bottom section into the flange of the body of the container. The Burring Machine is/was used for creasing the rim of a cover for a pail or boiler. Also used for preparing circular edges of vessels for double seaming. This little jewel is missing the brass name plate(you can see the brass spots where it had been in pic 5) These are often lost during the lifetime and or use. The wooden part of the handle has a couple nicks. Smooth(not splintery) but is still very solid. Thanks for visiting and please take a peek at my other listings. You are bidding on a very P.S.W&CO. divider caliper. This is a VERY old piece that I was able to date to pre-1927. Tips are in good shape. Sharp and not bent. Threads are smooth. Opens and closes properly. It is 6" long and opens up to about 8" Please see the photos. It has one Maker's Mark that says"P.S.W. Co. featuring a hand with cold chisel in a circle. This logo was replaced by 1927 with"Pexto" in an oval. Surrounded by"Southington, Conn. USA" I have decided to not remove the fantastic patina on this piece to protect its integrity.
