Huge Pexto Bench w/ Stake Plate & 12 Stakes Pexto,Niagara Tinsmith Sheet Metal
Up for bid is a Pexto bench w/ stake plate and 12 stakes. I am fairly certain this bench was made by Pexto. But there is no mark. The plate has a"P" within a diamond on the bottom, but most Pexto plates have the name cast out on top. So you be the judge. Either way it is a great plate. It does have a chip out on one side of one of the square holes. The stake still holds well and will not be a problem. The bench measures 8' x 41" x 33" tall and has two heavy shelves. The stakes on the left above the plate were made by Pexto and were made to be held in vertical stake that has a clamp on top of it. I don't have that piece and it will not be included. They can be held in a bench vise a lot more securely than the holder Pexto made. Pexto Shear with table 0296-2 - Throatless Bench Shear
Up for auction is a used hand-operated. Bench-top metal shear. I really know very little about this, and the only identifying information I can find on it is the Pexto logo and the number 0296-2 cast into the body. Searching their website, I see a similar, modern shear sold as a"Throatless Bench Shear" but nothing with similar numbering to the one I have. This may or may not be an older version of the same. The shear is functional and comes with a table, but it does not currently have a handle. See photos for dimensions. Due to size and weight. I'm only listing this for pick-up in the Philadelphia, PA area. There may be a possibility of local delivery for a small additional fee. I didn't notice the crack in the cast iron housing until I looked at the photos posted on listing! I am going to sell it anyhow. PRICE LOWERED! I will add a closeup photo of crack but you can see it in the other pics. Machine may work OK as is for light duty use or could possibly be welded by a pro. Please take crack into consideration when bidding. There are 3 misc rollers that do fit but I don't think they match each other. Shafts accept 5/8" hole rollers on the end part and 15/16" on the bigger part. Also, I do NOT have a crank for this, the lugs are 1/2" square where crank fits. He has owned them for decades. These are heavy well made antique stake anvils. I could barely see marking on anything. I thought I saw a 1824 or 1864 date possibly. Sets like these come up for sale rarely. The combined weight of them is approximately 157 pounds. They could be pexto. Dixon, or earlier. I just don't know. They are certainly not perfect but with some cleaning and TLC it's a WOW anvil ... moreenvy set for sure. I will have to ship in at least 2 parcels, preferably 3 for safety. They will be well packed so as not to ding into one another. You just don't see them all together like this folks. 19th Century Peck, Stow, & Wilcox 6 Inch Friction Joint Dividers PS&W PEXTO
Nice and early(19th century) pair of friction joint dividers manufactured by Peck. Stow, Wilcox. These measures 6 inches long. They are marked P. S. W. Co. These are as found, from an old carpenter's tool chest I recently acquired. There are some small spots of staining, and a few spots of surface rust. One leg is slightly shorter than the other, but this is not an issue in use. The legs separate with a little resistance, and stay where you put them, which is what you want in this kind of tool. Overall condition is Excellent. This is a five day auction. USA sales only.
