TAFA Miller PRAXAIR ArcSpray Welder 30-8A 8830 *53 HOURS*
This is a used. Older model TAFA Arcspray welding system. It uses special wire which is essentially vaporized at the gun nozzle for dissimilar metal deposition, or to build up worn metal for re-machining. Came out of a government facility, so there's no telling what it may have been used for. The unit consists of a model 30-8A. 200A power supply(3 phase 208/240/44/480v) an Automatic Control Module, a model 8830 spray weld gun and numerous hoses and electrical cables. THE MACHINE SHOWS 53 HOURS ON THE HOURMETER! Bare machine weight with all hoses and cables is approx 325lb. Physical dimensions are: about 14" wide. 30" deep and 49" tall. I believe this machine was made by PRAXAIR. I was able to find a manual for a slightly later model(30-8B35) on the which I printed and bound for you. All components and parts seem to be available. ... moreThe machine is currently set up for 208/240V 3 phase power. I was able to power up the unit. The power supply fan went on. And the automatic control unit light went on. I am unfamiliar with this machine. And did not try to plumb it or hook up all the elctrical cables. As you see in the photos, there are numerous hoses and cables that come with the system. I do not know if it is absolutely complete or not. I did note that several of the electrical cables(one near the gun, and another have the insulation peeling and should be replaced before use. The 8830 gun has a part broken off, which I beleieve is for connecting the welding wire. It will have to be re-glued. The power supply has minor dents on the right side, probably caused by them hanging a regulator off that side. Other than those things mentioned. I couldn't find anything else obviously wrong, inside or out. But again, I can not test the machine, so it is being sold AS-IS. THE MACHINE WILL REQUIRE SOME ATTENTION BEFORE IT CAN BE USED! Selling a Miller Maxstar 140STR welder. This is an incredible little powerpack of a machine. It will output up to 140 Amps for Tig or Arc welding. It can auto switch between 110/120V and 220/240V single phase electric. Just use the included adapter to plug into either outlet. It is an inverter machine, so the arc is super sooth and stable, just listen to it in the attached video. Also, it weighs just 11 lbs. With all the leads and the regulator, the entire case weighs 28lbs. Of course it is backed by the legendary Miller name. I fired it up today and recorded the video below.
