Starre tt Inside Micrometer Range: 32-82 Inches This Micrometer is used with a few scratches and will need re-certified. But is still in full working capability. Comes in original wooden case. The case is old and has wear and tear from previous owners. Tubular inside micrometers are designed for large internal measurements beyond the capacity of most other micrometers. Each set consists of a micrometer head mounted at the end of a tubular holder in which measuring rods can be inserted and adjusted to the desired size. Final size reading in thousandths of an inch(0.001" is obtained using the micrometer head. Rods and holder are made of steel tubing. Light in weight, yet very rigid. Over a year ago we purchased a group of vintage tools from a Tool& Die Estate Sale. I will be listing several boxes of tools from this Estate Sale and must tell you I do not know anything about these tools except for the fact we were told the man took very good care of his tools and have been told by men that have used tools like these- that all the tools we purchased are in good condition and are very desirable tools. I have had to spend hours researching in order to understand what the tools are and will give you the information on the tools themselves. These tools are being sold AS PURCHASED- no return. Any man that is familiar with the tools will know the purpose for which they were made and understand using the tools. I do not and can not answer questions other than what you can see in pictures and my description with information ... morefrom the tools themselves. This tool looks in very good condition. To have been used- it is not covered with a lot of soil nor rust. I have NOT cleaned any of the tools- they are being sold as purchased and have been stored for years- supposedly most of the tools were used in the 1970- 80's. I have taken all the pieces of this set out of the box and photographed- as you can see from my pictures- there are two little wrenches. SEVEN metal cylinders that measure 6" approx 2 1/4" approx 3 1/4" approx. 4 1/4" approx 5 1/4" approx. 6 1/4" there is one in the Micrometer itself that measures 1 1/4" I have listed two of the cylinders at 6 1/4 inches- one is heavier and has an approx. 2 inch diamond textured end. The Micrometer spins very, very easily- reads LS STARRETT CO. ATHOL MASS, USA NO. 124. It is covered with numbers under the Starrett Name that starts with 0 and go to 20- the part that extends has numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Vintage Chuan Micrometer Set in Large Wooden Box (9 Pieces Total)
This is a set from estate sale. Micrometers read. 0-1" 1-2" 2-3" 3-4" It includes wrenches, and 3 little bits( that are still wrapped up. I don't know very much about the set except it appears to be in good condition. There is the previous owners name etched on them and also etched on the box which would not affect anything.
