I have taken many photos for you to study to show how really nice the set is. The base of the gauge has a very faintly etched owners name on it, which you can see in the photos. I have also taken photos showing a ruler to give you some idea of its size. Very nice gauge set! Or maybe I just don't know how to, I wiped it down with a dry cloth. But have done no other cleaning. It is very dirty/dusty. Scratching on all surfaces. Bare metal parts have a patina and spots of light corrosion. Painted areas have chipping/flaking throughout. Notably heavy flaking/paint loss on the aluminum base. Gentleman I bought this from. Spent much of his professional life working on the tailpipes of jet engines for GE. I don't think they have seen a lot of use, as I bought his set of work calipers and a third set, yet to be listed, one only needs so many of these things. Anyway, both pieces are mechanically perfect, perfectly smooth, carbide faces on calipers are perfectly smooth. Note some spotting on the back side of the pieces from sitting in the case so long, not sure how much it will clean off, no sure if you'd need to, but as is, as found.
