BSO Dividing head with tailstock, plates and Phase II Chuck
Bought 3 years ago. Only used twice. All functions work fine, Mounted Phase II 5 inch chuck to threaded face plate and Zeroed to the best of the chucks built n run-out. I under cut the face plate pilot by.010 too allow for centering and the best I got was.0012 run-out using a.0001 indicator. I am not familiar with these China Import heads, The crank handle for the head plates has about 1/8 of a turn backlash when changing directions of rotation. I am not sure if this is good or bad for these heads. I read this is adjustable, on side of head is a access screw for tightening worm gear, I will let new owner set to his own preference. I only used the preset locking plate index positions while making hydraulic valve spool's and it was spot on. I checked the sellers listings these units trend at $375.00 plus shipping without a new 5 inch chuck ... moreand jaw sets. I am selling this to buy a 8 inch chuck for my indexing spacer and a 6 inch rotary table. I just do not need this unit. This is a nice unit. Very clean with no damage marks at all.

Here is a collet drawbar that I believe fits 1AM collets based on the minor diamter of 1.083 and the thread pitch of 24TPI. It's short. So it probably belongs to a dividing head. Note that the minor diameter is smaller than the major diameter of 1.120 for 1AM collets. Calculations for the minor diameter for 1AM collets show a range of 1.075 to 1.085. The knurled steel handwheel has six 1/4" holes for a pin spanner wrench. Threads are in good shape. See the pictures for a fabulous not-to-scale dimensioned drawing. Here is a collet drawbar that fits 5C collets. The tube is straight and not dented. Note: the collet threads in this drawbar are not full depth- they extend only about 3/8" down. It may need to have the threads extended in order to use it. Depending on the application. Please make your bidding decision accordingly. The handle is a Hardinge-style handle. Including a thrust bearing, similar to a Hardinge, however the closer is likely not Hardinge based on information I got from a Hardinge collector.
