This is a vintage CROZIER 3"x3" 4-way indexable lathe toolpost holder. It's beautifully made and fully indexable via the positioning system which allows it to positively lock into multiple positions with a turn of the handle. Perfect accessory for an American lathe like South Bend. Clausing, Atlas-Craftsman or Logan etc. In fact it was installed on a 10" Atlas when I got it. It's in great condition with all the correct hardware and no damage except for some scuffing on the nameplate(but it's also stamped in) It holds up to a 5/8" lathe bit. Originally, the backplate was for the D1-6 spindle(I do not have camlock studs) but an adapter is included for D1-3 to D1-6 camlock spindles, check photos 10-13. Also included are two sets of jaws, one set has aluminum jaws. Please view the condition of the jaws in the photos included. The weight of the chuck without the removable jaws(like in photo 14) is 52 lb and 7 oz. No key. The jaws turn smoothly. 8" 4 Jaw Metal Lathe Chuck Made in USA South Bend Clausing Craftsman etc.
For sale is 4 jaw chuck for a Metal Lathe. It is about 9" outside diameter so probably considered an 8" chuck. The jaws move freely. No key included but it only takes a 3/8" square drive. I polished off the surface rust with some scotch-brite so it does not look too bad. I could not make out the brand, but I could see that it was made in the Connecticut USA. You will have to make your own backing plate. Otherwise good used chuck- don't expect new it has been sitting around for years unused therefore the surface rust. Sold as is with no returns. Follower rest for Clausing 4900 lathe -- follow rest
This is a hard-to-find follower rest for a Clausing 4900 lathe. This rest doesn't appear to have been used much. If at all. However, it is missing a couple of parts. It is missing one of the fingers that bear against the workpiece. It's also missing the special bolt and wing nut that clamp the rest to the compound. Last time I checked, Clausing still sold the bolt. I'm not sure about the finger. It would be easy enough to make one out of a piece of brass, though.

The good news: Includes 8" 3 jaw chuck(mounted) 10" 4 jaw chuck, Drive plate(not pictured) Aloris BXA tool post, 1) BXA1, 1) BXA4, 1) cut off blade holder(no marking) New(Clausing) lower drive belt, used original lower drive belt(in useable condition) used upper drive belt in useable condition, ways all look good, 3hp, 220/440v, 3ph motor. The bad news: The variable speed drive is bad, all the typical Clausing problems. I have new bushing and drive keys from Clausing. The lower variable speed pulley keyway is cracked, will need repaired or replaced. The upper variable speed pulley just needs epoxy recoated. The brake discs are good. The clock spring in the speed adjust housing needs replaced, I rebent the end just to try the lathe out, the hydraulic cylinder was working, new parts are available also. I had this lathe running briefly ... morebefore disassembling it. Gearing for normal and back gear was ok, tried out some of the threading feeds and lifted the cover off the change gear box, everything looked ok. Original Clausing manual is included, very good parts views and adjustment details. Everything this lathe needs replaced is available from Clausing. Lots if alternative repair information on the internet. The brake/clutch arm bracket on the right side of the carriage apron is broken, the headstock arm is ok.
