6" Craftsman Mtal Lathe 618 Atlas Gunsmith
I have a Craftsman 618 lathe. Whith the 1" x 8 tpi spindle. This lathe is in extremely nice condition. I found it setting in a fab shop. I don't believe it has been used very much at all. The serial number is 6L 031299, with the model number being 101.07301. It comes with what I believe to be a rare factory chip pan. It has a 3& 4 jaw chuck, face plate with 1 dog, a drill chuck, dead center, and set of change gears(56, 54, 52, 46, 44, 40, 36, and two 32) The motor appears to be original to the lathe, it is a Westinghouse Handy-Craft 1/4 hp 1725 rpm. I will remove the lathe from the table before shipping. I just sold a lathe similar to this, so the shipping costs are acurate. Jacobs 58B headstock chuck for Atlas, Craftsman, South Bend, Logan lathe
PLEASE READ! This is a Jacobs 58B headstock chuck. However. It has been altered to fit on a smaller lathe spindle. Someone has welded in an insert with 1" x 8 tpi threads and then ground the end. This will not fit on lathes with a 1 1/2" spindle. I tried it out on a lathe I have with a 1"8 spindle and the chuck definitely wobbles with runout. I don't know if this can be fixed, so I am selling this chuck as is, for parts only. Maybe you can get it to run true.
