The fully-machined back plate can be mounted onto 5" 3 jaw or 4 jaw self centering and independent lathe chuck(p/n 202-5594) All back plates have 0.04" allowance. Please measure the size of Chuck's D1 before process your back plates. The size of back plates's D1 should be a little bit smaller than the size of Chuck's D1. Because the gap between back plate and chuck is smaller. Chuck's TIR is better. No gap is the best. Old Ready Small Metal Lathe Straight Tool Holder South Bend Atlas Craftsman 3/16
You are looking at a good original condition and ready to use straight tool holder. This is a good and old one made by the Ready Tool Co from Bridgeport Conn. As you can see in the pictures it is a No 00 holder. It holds insert tooling of about 3/16" You can see in the pictures that the shaft has several nicks and scratches but it is still very strong and solid. The tool holder shaft size is about 5/16" wide and slightly less than 9/16" tall. The clamping bolt works tightly to hold the insert bit in place securely. You are bidding on a vintage ATLAS Model#7122 wood lathe on the original steel stand. This lathe was manufactured by the ATLAS PRESS Co. in Kalamazoo. Michigan. It is powered by a Craftsman ½ h. p. electric motor, that runs well. I bought this lathe 15+ years ago, thinking that I would get creative and make, or repair furniture. That never happened, and it has sat unused in my basement since that time. It is time to get realistic and move this machine along to someone who will use it. I centered up a square spindle just to be sure that everything worked, and it did. There are several different pulley settings allowing for several speeds. It will handle pieces up to 36" long. The overall length is 53 ½" and the bed is 5 ¾" wide. ATLAS/ SEARS CRAFTSMAN 12" X36" COMMERCIAL METAL LATHE and TOOLING
This is a very nice Craftsman Commercial metal lathe. 12" swing with quickchange gearbox and power cross slide. The commercial model has 1/2" thick bedways as opposed to the regular atlas or craftsman that have 3/8" thick ways. Includes nice original cabinet with belt underdrive and adjustable speeds from 28rpm to 2072rpm. 45 thread feeds from 4tpi to 120tpi. No. 3 MT spindle and no. 2 MT tailstock. Through hole capacity 25/32. All gears look good. Bed ways are good with minor rust spots here and there, compound only has.003-004 backlash, cross slide only has.005- 006 backlash, measured by the dial, not an indicator) tailstock is nice and smooth. This is a nice lathe from early 70's that has seen little use. Would be nice for garage or home shop hobbiest. Included is a NEW OLD STOCK milling attachment, milling draw bar, ... moretaper attachment(has some rust) steady rest, follow rest, three jaw chuck, four jaw chuck, faceplate. Now the bad. I know it needs a belt. And the power cord is cracked up, I'll replace them before auction end. Someone took a torch to the back of the cabinet when replacing the motor. You can see some rust on the cabinet and the lathe from this humid enviroment. I would encourage inspection prior to bidding but I know that is not always possible. nice tool post rest base.takes a rest with a 5/8" shaft.got this with a craftsman 10"x36" lathe that i bought.Had a atlas serial number on back tag,atlas also made these for dunlop.so this should fit all 3.ok' color may not match all,but wont take much now to repaint this.its been media blasted and has 2 light coats from a detail gun on it.this base is 9" long& 2" tall where rest post goes in.fits a 2-1/4" gap bed.comes as pictured with hold down.believe they are the original square bolt& nut.if you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask.as always no reserve.thanks for looking& happy bidding!
