Free Shipping Condition: New Location: Goshen, United States I have for your consideration a Hickok 800 mutual conductance tube tester in good condition. I purchased this tester used last year. And it is in good ... moreworking condition. The inside face plate shows a very little wear. And I suspect it was not used much in its past history. The outer case has a couple very small tears in the cloth covering that do not at all detract from how it works. If you are looking at tube testers you probably already know that mutual conductance testers are the best ones you can buy for really determining if a tube is good or bad. This tester has inputs for a very wide verity of tube types including early ones. As you can see in the pictures. I replaced the only 2 paper capacitors in it. One electrolytic across the meter and the other one on the main selector. I have taken a picture of them, and you will see them next to each other in the picture. The one regular paper cap I replaced with a high quality Audio cap that is black in the picture, and the electrolytic on the meter I replaced with a nichicon. It worked well both before and after I replaced the caps, but I replaced them as a precaution, since paper caps dry out and go bad. The two tubes in the tester itself I did not replace. And they both work well. If these tubes are replaced you are supposed to do a calibration afterward, per the manual. I suspect they are the originals. I never felt the need to calibrate the tester when I used since it worked well when I got it. But the re-calibration procedure is in the included manual if you choose to do so. It always worked very well for me as it is. I used it to test tubes for my hobby of antique radio repair that I am getting out of now. The pictures are the best indication of condition. I have packed it well and will ship USPS only. Since I live in a small town and am not near any other shipper. Dated 2/67(February of ... more1967) this manual is complete. It includes instructions, tube chart, a very nice schematic and the 6768 Model 157 Supplement Chart. No pages are missing from the original. This copy is from a vintage original, but it has been digitally cleaned up and is exceptionally easy to read. To the best of my knowledge, this is all there is for the 157 tester. The 157 tester can test a lot of the more recent tubes- even Magnovals. If you want as complete a tube chart for your tester. I'm pretty sure this is it. The original manual was in 4.25x5.5 booklet form. It had 2 pages of instructions, a 59 page tube chart, a 1 page parts list and a schematic. The original supplement was 2 letter size pages. This copy is standard 8.5x11 letter size, comb bound with Bristol covers. The manual is printed 2-up so the original size is preserved. Test Sets, Electron Tube TV-7B/U - 43 years together
Sometime around 1970. This TV-7 was on tour in a portable tower on a remote airfield. The tower was damaged and the Air Force decommissioned it and sent it to Oklahoma City Air Material Area(OCAMA) in OK City. I was in the supply depot when it came in and was offered the opportunity to make it my own. It has been with me from OK City, Great Falls Montana, two cities in Idaho, Detroit, Helena MT, Santa Fe and now it resides with me in Arizona. I only used it about 4 times in 40 years, the latest on January 24, 2015, in preparation to sell it to you. I have a couple of old radios so I checked them out and found some weak tubes and now I am giving you the opportunity to grab it up. You can see the attachments are all corrosion free. I doubt they were dumb enough to use acid-core solder in it. According to the Tech Manual, I have one more adaptor ... morethan came with it originally but it looks like I am missing the alligator clips so I will call it even and sell it without the leads. Also, THE AUDIO CONNECTOR SHOWN IN THE PICS IS NOT PART OF THE SALE. It goes to my PSM-6 and even though I will probably never use it, I am keeping it with the PSM-6.
