Beautiful vintage antique Charles Parker adjustable wooden piano bench stool. 2 of the crystal ball feel are broken. See pictures. the other 2 are ok. I am not sure of the wood. Might be walnut. This is a beauty. It has I believe cast iron claw feet. The wood on the seat has an age crack but not bad. With the seat all the way down, the bench measures 19" tall and the seat is 14" wide. I have searched thru all"the man's" boxes but I cannot find the rest of this set so I am just going to sell it as I have it. This is a Parker VP fountain pen. The VP is marked on the gold tone cap just below the arrow as is the Parker name. I almost positive he never used this but not sure. The nib is marked"Parker. 14K made in USA, 65, 585" and is perfect mint condition. The pen is also perfect. Each end has a Pearlescent Pointed jewel like tip. The case is a hard type case that is white on one side and black on the other. Hinge is perfect and closes tight and is also marker"Parker" with the logo. It is old but like brand new. 1816 signed letter Daniel Parker Adjutant & Inspector General of Army
1816 printed order signed by Daniel Parker as the Adjutant and Inspector General of the Army. There is also a handwritten note by the Chief Clerk of the Superintendent General of Military Supplies office. Enoch Reynolds. The purpose of the two letters was to inform Captain Perez Loring, as Acting Assistant Deputy Quartermaster General that his paper work for the equipment he was held responsible for was incomplete. With that job title he would have been on the staff of one of the Military Districts during the War of 1812. The War Department had great difficulty processing all the paperwork from that war. Loring, like most soldiers, had been discharged from the Army in June, 1815, but was still responsible for accounting for army property used during the war. The first judge of the thirteenth judicial district, was born Sept. 19, 1832, near Fredonia, Chautauqua Co. N. Y. and is the second son of Capt. Isaac K. and Emily D. Thompson, natives respectively of Massachusetts and Vermont, descendents of English forefathers who settled in New England before the Revolution He lived with his parents on a farm, attending the common schools, and afterwards the academy in Fredonia, N. Y. till seventeen years of age, when he went to Niagara county and taught his first school.
