Military TV-2B/U Vacuum Electron Tube Test Set, w/manual. Great Condition
For sale. Top of the line, Military TV-2B/U Vacuum Electron Tube Test Set with manual. This set is in great condition as the photos clearly show. Indicators, sockets and control panel look beautiful. Has a three prong plug too. I purchased this 20 years ago and when it arrived. Went into dry, desert storage as I was working overseas at the time. 20 years later, it's still sitting there. I purchased it from Tucker Electronics. Who at the time had just gone through it and calibrated it(NIST) I never put power on it. There are a few light dings to the case from previous use during it's life but nothing to effect its function. The only thing to note is that the two test cables(red and black) with the clips on them got old and need to be replaced. Their rubber coatings are dried out and very stiff. That's why the price is low. Those ... morecables with clips can be easily found in multimeter kits or at Fry's Electronics or similar. Etc. and are easily changed. I lowered the price 200.00 because of that, so get it here cheap. If it were me, I'd remove the existing red and black cables and replace them with female test sockets and use fresh red and black cables with clips and male bananna jacks to make it easy to service in the future. Other than that, it looks great. Test chart moves when the thumbwheel is turned. Includes manual and Tucker's inspection sheet. Old cal sticker from them still on the case(see photos) Being sold as is. No returns. I'm selling it here cheap and it's priced to move fast! Don't blink on this one or it will be gone! good working vintage U-TEST-EM stationary floor model electron tube tester
SquareTrade © AP6.0 1960 vintage U-Test-Em model 1901 stationary tube tester. 58 1/2" tall x 21" wide x 20" front to back. Sheet metal cabinet has locking door on the bottom with slide out tray shelves. There are 5 tray slots but only 2 trays. Cabinet is in fair cosmetic condition but equipment appears to be good working. Glass insert on the cabinet base door is cracked. Glass panel with advertising is missing from the overhead light section. Some minor surface rust and wear and on the cabinet. For testing Efficiency. Plug the tube into the correct socket and allow 30 seconds to warm up. Meter should read at the chart indicated value or higher. I tested several tubes and the values appear reasonable. I have a brand new 6U7 tube which shows a value of 50 on the cabinet chart and the meter tests at 55. I have a used 6K7 ... morewhich should test at 50 but only registers 40. Shorts or gas leaks should light up on the panel but none of the tubes I tested appear to be faulty in that respect. There is a toggle power switch mounted on the panel, however, the only way to turn off the overhead light is to unplug the unit. Pretty neat and usable unit. For local pick up here in York, PA 17406. This is a Navy Department 1960's TV- 10/U Test Set. Electron Tube. The label states this tester is made for the Navy Dept. Bureau of Ships. The tester was made by the Forway Industries. I picked up this tester when I bought a collection of radio tubes. I plugged in the tester and it lit up so I presumed it works. Lot 12AX7 USED VACUUM TUBES GE Wurlitzer Vtg Organ Electron Amplifier TV-7 Test
Lot of 9. Vintage used 12AX7 vacuum tubes made by GE for Wurlitzer. Codes year 1963, 188-5, Tall Gray ribbed plates, Halo Getter, Made in USA. I pulled these tubes from an old rotten organ many years ago. They are very dirty. When washed, I can guarantee the rest of the old chalky print will be gone. The getter flashes look crisp and clear. I allowed these tubes to warm up 5 minutes before testing and tested twice. No shorts or gas. On my TV-7D/U the test results are as follows with 32 being the minimum. Tested at 50/48. 46/47, 47/43, 48/47, 44/45, 46/44, 50/50, 48/42, 48/49. These are sure not audiophile or amplifier grade tubes, but someone may have some use for them in old radios or something. Sometime around 1970. This TV-7 was on tour in a portable tower on a remote airfield. The tower was damaged and the Air Force decommissioned it and sent it to Oklahoma City Air Material Area(OCAMA) in OK City. I was in the supply depot when it came in and was offered the opportunity to make it my own. It has been with me from OK City, Great Falls Montana, two cities in Idaho, Detroit, Helena MT, Santa Fe and now it resides with me in Arizona. I only used it about 4 times in 40 years, the latest on January 24, 2015, in preparation to sell it to you. I have a couple of old radios so I checked them out and found some weak tubes and now I am giving you the opportunity to grab it up. You can see the attachments are all corrosion free. I doubt they were dumb enough to use acid-core solder in it. According to the Tech Manual, I have one more adaptor ... morethan came with it originally but it looks like I am missing the alligator clips so I will call it even and sell it without the leads.
