I bought it at beth steel in baltimore where it seems that they took good care of all of their tools. I plugged it in, pressed the button and the saw seems to work well. It is marked as having an electric brake and sure enough it seemed to stop when I took my finger off the button. It is very heavy and appears well made. Disclosure. You have probably figured it out but I don't know a lot about power tools. The cord seems to be in good shape and the saw seems to run well.
