I replaced it with a shorter but larger in diameter resister of close to the same specifications as the original. (Hickok) Military TV-2C Tube tester, Excellent operating cond. Cal checked
This is a nice Military TV-2c(the lastest version) in excellent operating condition. And good cosmetic condition. This is considered by some to be one of the best testers based on the Hickok Gm circuit. I've gone through the complete cal check(there are a few errors in the procedure) and added a few checks of my own. Everything checks out fine and I've tested a bunch of tubes(see the list iin the c/o sheet(last 3 pictures) This includes spare tubes(83 and 6X4) The screen supply rectifier's(6X4) heater is on a winding of the plate/ screen transformer. This causes screen voltage drift as a result of changing the plate fine adjust. This issue is nicely resolved by changing the screen rectifier to diodes, I made a 7 pin plug-in adapter for this. Every switch, pot and meter operate fine. The case has the usual dents and scrapes and ... moreif you're fussy it could use a paint job. The interior and front panel. Including the knobs and meters, are in excellent condition. The roll chart in the lid works very smoothly with no binding. The original manual is in good condition. There are a number of manuals(operating and test) manuals available on the BAMA site: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 and Shipping will be by UPS for 56 lbs from 91784. The dimensional weight rules(UPS and USPS) for the box are what determines this shipping weight. This will require a 24 x 24 x 16in. box for safe shipping. It was designed for the professional radio service engineer that wanted everything in a compact unit. The diagnometer seems to be in good condition. We have no way to test it. Hickok Tube Tester Model 600A + Extra 83 & 5Y3 Tubes - Working Condition
Up for auction is a Hickok 600A Micromho Mutual Conductance(Gm) Tube Tester. This tester is in working condition. But but is being sold“as is” since it has not been recently calibrated. The meter is in excellent condition; the knobs are tight and the chart roll bar works all the way to both ends. As can be seen from the panel face. There is little wear around the knobs which happens from frequent use. This unit operates using both a 83 tube rectifier and a 5Y3WGT tube rectifier. When these tubes were replaced. The tester’s readings did not change– indicating that the original tubes are still good(and will be included in this sale as extras) The tester still has all four rubber feet, original handle, and the original power cord(which has the usual cracking seen in cords from its era) The unit comes with a cap connector, spare fuse, and a copy ... moreof the original manual. SECO MODEL 107 VACUUM TUBE TESTER / BOOKLET
Picked this up from a local estate. I don't know much about this sort of item and have no tubes to test it and even if I had tubes I wouldn't know how to operate it or what to look for. Looks pretty clean on the inside. Outside latches show some rust. Outside case shows some wear here and there. Missing 4 of the rubber feet. I did plug it in and the eye lighted up and the eye adjustment knob opened and closed the eye. I also pushed the red button that says press to adj. line and the needle moved to the center of the dial. So I know those 2 items work to some extent. Has some other box that holds testtubes attached to where the cord is stored and there is also a plugged in clip that also stores in the same compartment. As for the tester itself I plugged it in and turned it on, the red light came on that indicated it was getting power, also on the right the yellow light came on indicating it is ready to test. I have a ton of tubes that were with this so I plugged one in and followed the directions, it lit up as you can see in the photos the tube lit up, so the heater and sensitivity work, I hit the test button and the meter barely moved, but the meter does work obviously if it moved when I hit test. As for the rest of it I do not know how ... moreor what it does. I buy storage auctions and all of this was in the unit. The case on the outside of the tester seems to be in pretty good shape for its age it has normal wear and tear but it is not bad by any means, the hinges on the case hold the case together but the lid will fall off if it slides out of the hinges. Also one of the knobs on the bottom row is missing. That covers the tester next I will discuss the tubes. Tubes- There are 130ish tubes maybe a few more or a few less but it is somewhere in that area doing a quick count. That is including the red thing with the wire you see in the pics I have no clue what that is, as well as various other random nontube items. I would say there are 120 tubes and then 10 other misc. items that are not tubes but are related to the tubes, I guess they are capacitors or something I am not sure im not an expert. All of the tubes are untested, I do not know if you can use them or not, most of them are out of the box except the ones you see in the cigar box they are in the box but I dont know if they are any good or not you will have to test them all yourself. 1955 Allied Knight-Kit Tube Tester-83YX142/3 This is a nice Vintage tube tester from 1955. It is by Allied Radio of Chicago. It has the how to build and trouble shoot manual included. It also instructs how to test tubes. I use to restore and repair old radios and I used it quite a bit years ago. I wanted to make sure it still worked. So I found an old radio stored downstairs and pulled a few tubes out of it to test this evening and a really old tube from a TRF radio I have sitting in my family room. The results are as follows. Which tells me the Tube Tester still works, which is a good thing! 6SK7- Tested good and no shorts or gas problems. 6F6- Had a short from the get go. 80(very old tube) Tested weak but good. I included some pictures of the meter during some of the testing. Just to show it working as well as the lighted filaments, the ... morelighted meter and Roll Chart. Even the power cord is in nice condition. There is a small cigarette burn on the outside by the handle. Remember the days when people smoked anywhere and everywhere? If any, wear around the knobs as happens when a tester is used frequently, indicating this unit has seen little actual use during it's long lifetime. This unit has an 83 tube rectifier and a 5Y3WGT tube rectifier. Outer cloth covering of case shows typical wear with some worn through spots at edges and corners. Unit still has all four rubber feet and original handle. Power cord has been replaced. Unit has been used to test 5 Volt rectifiers like 5Y3, 6 Volt triode tubes like 6SN7, 6 Volt diodes like 6H6, and 12 Volt triodes like 12AX7 all with normal meter readings. Outside is in pretty decent condition. With one small stain, a very small tear, and a little rust on the latch. Inside is beautiful and spotless. The screws have a little bit of rust. Mint condition! Here at this auction is an antique Lafayette Model TE-50 Tube Tester. For hi-fi, guitar, amps. Comes with operating manual/instructions. A slide out built in drawer holds the tube data charts. Cosmetically show's some small wear and marks from age. But still in good condition. Powered up and tested a tube 12AU7 for emission tests showing good conductance( Micromhos) with no leakage or shorts present. The tester is great for matching pairs of tube based on emission tests. This tester is very compact and lightweight. Good for on the job testing or teaching students about tubes. The unit is small and compact measuring 10" x 8 1/4" x 2 1/2" It weighs in at 6 pounds. Tube tester precision apparatus audio stereo guitar amp hi-fi model 612
This tube tester is in decent condition for it's age. I tried it with several different tubes and it appears to work correctly. I did not try every socket and would assume the switches could use cleaning. There are five paper rolls beside the one in the machine. there is also an ad from 1958 for the company and a letter dated 1972 checking for an update. The case has some deep scratches and the hinges are missing from the cover. The original foil tag is still on the handle as well. Thanks for looking.

Vintage Simpson Electric Model 555 Tube Tester Parts Repair Display ? Chicago
Attic find. I'm sure that in the day this was state of the art but by today's standards it's a dinosaur. And I'm sure that when it was stashed away so many years ago"dad" was sure he'd need it again. It absolutly needs a new power cord before it could even be tested safely but, after noticing some screws missing on the cover I had to open it up to make sure it wasn't gutted. As you can see in the pictures aside from a coating of dust the interior looks surprisingly good with no evidence that anything but age has deteriorated the cord on the outside of the cover, even the paper roll looks quite good. This is a large heavy object so shipping will be quoted as parcel post. Jackson Tube Tester Model 634
You are bidding on a used Jackson Tube Tester Model 634 from the 1940's. Tester appears to be in decent shape for it's age. There are a lot of signs of wear on the outside of the case and handle as it is missing some paint and there is some rust on the outside. Tester comes with original testing sheets although I am not sure if they are complete or not as all the pages are loose and clipped onto the inside of the tester. It does not come with a book but it can be easily found on the internet. We actually have not tested any tubes on this tester at all so it is being sold as is. I can not guarantee its calibration although I have no reason to believe it is an issue. I find the ability to check a tube for microphonics is extremely important for either buying or accurately selling a preamp tube. For this purpose alone the it will pay for itself over and over again. These rarely become available on the open market.

I found one broken wire and replaced it. But it still would not work; the next to last picture shows the broken wire and the last picture shows the wire repaired. I never could get it to power on. The scrolling tube chart has been removed. If you are repair oriented. It may be a fixable(the interior is very clean) if not, there are a lot of good parts, e.g. knobs, meter, switches.
