Vintage Steel Industrial Leather Seat Chair in Red Machine Age This is a very interesting old Machine age or Industrial steel frame chair with a hard leather seat. I am unable to find a manufacturers mark anywhere on the chair. I purchased the chair along with 4 others of the same type at a garage sale and I was told they came out of the GE plant in Syracuse NY. The chairs measure 18 inches tall at the seat the seats measure 15 3/8 inches roughly square The back rest rises 14 inches above the seat. The back rest is adjustable by about 2 inches and the legs are also adjustable by as much as 8 inches. Even the depth of the back rest can be adjusted. The chairs are sill very solid and sound but they have seen a lot of hard use. There is a lot of chipped paint but the chairs are still solid. Even the hard leather seat looks original and in relatively ... moregood condition. The screws that secure the legs are not all original, some take a flat screwdriver and some take Phillips. These are some pretty cool looking chairs and in my research i could find none like them on the internet. The paint is not original. The silver paint on the feet comes off fairly easily. Estimated shipping weight: 25 pounds. These can actually be made fairly compact and be shipped USPS fairly reasonably. This would probably be cheapest to ship via Greyhound freight shipping if you purchase more than 1 chair. Singer sewing machine 15-91 centennial edition Sews leather
Up for your consideration my Grandmothers singer 15-91 Singer sewing machine. It is the centennial edition with the special badge. I oiled it cleaned it a little and it sewed with no problem. I have pictured a sample of heavy leather that it was able to sew. The finish has chips to the edge of the work surface and the hand wheel but neither effect the performance of this machine. The decals are mostly intact and the black finish has some crazing. Please refer to the pictures. The bobbin winder does need a new"tire" they are readily available on ebay. We are offering our rare Antique Singer Handheld and Hand crank Sewing machine for sale. It was used during the era of sewing carpeting curtains in hotels and luxury homes after they where laid or hung in place. It is an intricate mechanical mechanism driven by a leather belt and coordinated through complex series of gears. Levers and stops. The needle oscillates during the hand cranking and feeds the thread with great accuracy. It shows some wear for its age however, the mechanical features move adequately for their age. Rare Vintage Singer 29K71 Cobbler's Leather Treadle Sewing Machine Works C-Video
This is a Rare Vintage Singer 29K71 Cobbler's Leather Treadle& Handcrank Sewing Machine. Serial number EJ534915 dates this machine to February 17. 1954. This machine and base have been properly cleaned and oiled and sews very well. Please see the picture of the stitch. I tested it on a thick piece of leather between 1/8" and 3/16" thick. It stitched with ease. The stitch is equal on both sides. Here are links to videos of this actual machine working. The second video is a close up of it sewing so you can see it create the stitch. The third video is an old one I made showing how to thread this machine. The body and frame are solid. The metal is soiled and needs a good wire brush cleaning. It comes with 1 bobbin. Some needles and bunch of clips. I'm not sure what the clips are for. The bobbin winder has a new rubber wheel. ... moreIt has a new treadle cord. It has two speed select pullies to choose from. It has a 12" throat measured from the body to needle. I made a feed wire for inserting the thread down to the needle. It works ok. The head has a 360 degree swiveling walking foot so you can rotate any way you need to. The foot is ribbed underneath for grabbing. The ribs are worn and work fine for the leather pictured, but you may need a new foot if using thinker leather. Overall, the machine has a soiled appearance with wear. The machine head has black crinkled paint. The decals are dark. There are also some chips and scratches throughout the machine and frame. The frame has a drawer below the head. The body has two thread tensioners and a plate with a gear behind it. It appears the palte can be removed and a handcrack istalled on the front with the bobbin winder location also moved. The frame has new metal feet installed. The base measures 27" x 16-1/2" and is about 44" tall with the head installed. This is pick up only with cash or PayPal payment. No other options. This is a Vintage Singer Hand Crank Pinking Machine. Singer part# 121379. This one has a"blackside" deck and crank arm where Singer used black metal instead of chrome. It also has crinkled paint. It works and was tested on thin leather. Denim and vinyl upholstery. It comes with a non-Singer clamp and a copy of the instruction sheet. The instructions are not original Singer paperwork. The pinker is in good condition. It rotates with ease. It has black textured paint. The metal deck has some scratches and is slightly bent down on the front left corner. All other chrome and unpainted metal parts are in good condition with some signs of age and use. The felt is worn thin on the bottom. The complete assembly measures 7" wide x 2-5/8" deep and is 5" tall. The deck measures 2-1/2" x 2-1/8" The base measures 3-1/2" ... morex 2-11/16" oval. Antique US Patent Model 1874 Machine for Whitning & Buffing Leather
Here is a piece of American History! This is a US Patent Office model of a machine for whitening and buffing leather to be used in the garment industry. This model was made by Joseph E Fiske. Of Salem, MA, and his maker's mark appears in several locations on the model as can be seen in the photos. As the original tags show, this machine was patented on Dec. 8, 1874, and is patent#157.442. It is a working model of a machine that would be driven by an overhead belt system. Typical of machinery of the period. When you pull the lever on the front of the model, the various"working" parts move accordingly. Due to age, the mechanism is stiff, and does not function exactly as it did when it was made. There has not been any effort to restore it to it's original working condition. This model is 139 years old. So it is a bit dusty, ... moreand dirty. The small tag in the rear was cracked in half, and taped back together. As said before, NO effort has been made to restore it, and with a little cleaning and polishing, it would really look nice. This is an antique Singer 51w51 sewing machine. I believe that it is used for sewing lightweight leather and shoes though I am not certain. I do have a copy of the manual for this machine that I can send with it in hardprint or email to you as a pdf file. The machine shows some light wear but it is in fantastic condition for a 100 year old industrial machine. And of course. It is a Singer so it has held up wonderfully. I do not have anything to hook it up to and test its sewing ability but it is in overall excellent condition and the needle moves very easily. Description Lovely Singer 28- Fully Serviced- Runs Like a Dream! This lovely Singer 28 hand operated sewing machine is in good condition. Has been fully serviced and runs beautifully. The machine has been tested on a wide range of fabrics including soft leather and it has proved a real worker. Sailing through material as well as the day it was manufactured! The machine comes complete with bullet shuttle and bobbin. Although the machine shows some minor. Use related wear which includes some small'pit' marks to the enamel finish of the bed and some minor wear to the decals, it is overall aesthetically in good condition. The machine comes in its original bentwood case which is in lovely order and carries the beautifully decorative Singer emblem on the front.
