This is a Stalker LZ1 LIDAR Police Radar Gun system. This is an infrared laser unit. This particular unit was recently taken out of service due to department upgrades. The condition of the unit is good with scuffs. Scratches and marks from usage and storage, all pictures are the exact unit you will receive. The optics on the front of the unit are in excellent shape with no visual defects to report. This unit was manufactured in June 2002. The unit powers on perfectly. Passes the self test and the speaker works properly. All displays are bright and easy to read. All buttons and controls are in excellent working order. It also features a heads-up display that you can look through; through the display you can see the reticle along with information(range/speed) on the object your targeted on. The software version shows up as"A 2.6 SUP" ... morewhen powered on holding the TEST button. This is an MPH Speedgun model K-Band police radar gun. Radar gun is in good physical condition with scuffs. Marks and scratches from normal field usage. There's some minor cracking on the handle, but nothing structural at all. This is a very cool and unique radar as the handle detaches from the main unit and can be used as a wireless infrared remote control to operate the unit! This unit will do same lane. Stationary and opposing modes as well as fastest target tracking. The modes are selected using the black rocker switch on the handle. The unit powers on properly. Pressing the test button displays"32" on the display as it should. The lamp test also passes with all lights/led's illuminated and the speaker properly emits sound. I bench tested the unit in moving and stationary mode using several K-Band forks and the unit ... moreresponded properly. One fork is included with the unit. The unit transmits when the trigger is pulled 50% when the trigger is pulled 100% the unit will lock the target speed on the display. To turn the unit on, after plugging it in simply press the large knob on the left of the handle. The knob is additionally used to control features on the radar(it turns and acts as a control for the menu selections) This unit clocks in MPH. So it's probably most useful to people where the speed is normally reported in miles-per-hour. This is a Kustom Signals"HR-12" model K-Band police radar gun. Radar gun is in fair physical condition with dents. Scuffs, marks and scratches from field usage. The top part of the"squelch/unsquelch" switch broke off, but using a pointy object(paperclip, key, etc) you can move the switch back and forth. I had to repair the power cord as the original one was non-functional. This unit has moving& stationary modes- the mode is selected via a switch at the top of the unit. Stationary mode appears to be working great. It reports accurate speeds off of all of my K-Band tuning forks. For moving mode, if the unit is locked on a fork it will report speed and when a second fork is introduced, the proper speed appears in the target window, but when not locked on a fork(and sitting stationary) it may display random digits. I've ... moreseen this many times before with older units I've acquired. The volume knob works. But you have to turn the unit near max to start hearing the doppler tones, once again a common issue with these older units that use potentiators for the volume. All LED segments light up perfectly. The Day/Night switch brightens/dims the display and the hold button will hold transmission. Squelch/unsquelch properly mutes the doppler tones as well. This unit clocks in MPH. So it's probably most useful to people where the speed is normally reported in miles-per-hour. Unit would be great for recreational/sport use but I would probably not recommend it for official use. Scratches and marks from normal usage and storage. There are no cracks on any of the optics. Display is in good shape with some minor scuffs and marks on it. It powers on with no errors, passes the self test and the speaker works properly. All displays are bright and easy to read. All buttons and controls are in excellent working order. It also features a heads-up display that you can look through; through the display you can see the"target crosshairs" along with information on the object your targeted on. The unit has quite an extensive set ... moreof menu options that you can use to configure various settings on the unit. Range and speed tests are working properly from my quick tests. I tested the unit by aiming it and"sweeping" across the top-bar of a chain-link fence. Once locked on; I was able to get the range and speed of my"sweeping" The distance seemed to be accurate as the fence was 100-110 feet away from me and that's what the readings were. If the object moves toward you the speed is positive; if it moves away from you it is negative. Laser units will not work well through windows; it's recommended that you have a clear unobstructed view of your target. The handles on these units are detachable and interchangable.
