We think it is an older reproduction. I'm guessing that it was made in the 1950's or sixties. Excellent craftsmanship, very detailed. Excellent condition, excellent paint, just the tiniest hint of rust in a few places. We have always displayed it on top of our bookcases. It has never been played with. The wheels do turn and the men come off as do the ladders. It is one of the largest I have seen at about 31" long and about 7" wide across the horses and about 9" tall to the top of the driver's head. It has the ladders and bell, a beaded chain harness for the horses and a driver and a tillerman to steer the back. Quite a few careless'dings' scuffs all over 13" lower bout. 24.5" scale length Ladder-braced for that Classic Blues sound! Has quite a bit of careless handling wear. But seems rarely played. Consider the painted fret markers. There is really not much neck wear, and these will get wiped out over time with constant playing. Frets seem quite clean. Neck has some'relief' but is well within bounds for the veteran player. If your style is a combination of finger and bottleneck(AKA-Blues) you want this guitar! Doesn't have the usual date code, there is the remnants of a sticker on the back- no idea if significant. Looks to be late'50s era Kay. Good/average cosmetics- typical scuffs& dings from a guitar ... morethat has probably never been inside of a case. Cool funky vibe! Will require strings and personal set up.
