Up for bids is a vintage Sireane Jr Siren. It runs on 6V DC. It was tested and it is loud. My guess it was used in an alarm system or on a fire truck. Here for your bidding consideration is a vintage Gamewell fire alarm call box. The outside of the box is still in very good shape overall. The paint does show its age from the weather and elements. The flip down door that covers the pull switch and the clear lens are in good shape. The internal teletype system is still there and functions very smoothly when you pull down the actuation knob. The box number is 1296, this corrosponds to the teletype system inside. The inside mechanism and the glass dome appear to be in very good shape. The door lock is busted, so I unscrewed it from the box and put it inside. New Gamewell door locks for this box are availible here on ebay, just do a search. This is a very heavy item, it weighs 20 pounds just by itself, after its all packed up it weighs 30 pounds with the box and packing material. Gamewell Fire Pull Station Newton Mass early 1920's 19 h x12.75 w x5 d heavy metal weighs 29 pounds Not in working condition. If item is working when you pull the lever you would hear the telegraph wires ticking inside. The door pulls down to press alarm. There is no key Produced and set up on town/city streets and large manufacturing plants. If you had a fire in your block you would go out and pull the lever. The telegraph would be sent to local officials notifying them of the location of the fire. This one was taken from a manufacturing plant in Tuscaloosa Al. Fire 1) ~ 1904 GAMEWELL 6" Brass Bell. Oak Fire Alarm Box, A++ A beautiful small sized oak box. With all the trim molding complete and virtually unmarred. The box is 16" tall, 9 1/2" wide and 4 1/2" deep. The brass bell is 6" in diameter and produces a rich sound. Appears to be complete, noting only the missing door lock. Even the glass window looks to be original, or at the very least, very, very old. The ringing mechanism features patent dates of May, 1891 and April, 1904 and it too looks to be complete. I have not tested it as I don't want to damage any electrical components. Please let the photos be your guide. On the inside of the door is stamped'108' and above the mechanism'21 OHMS' The case is solid with no visible cracks nor damage. Gamewell Weight-Sector and Gardiner Fire Alarm Box Mechanism Restored
Shown here are two Gamewell Fire Alarm Box mechanisms. The first is a circa 1916 Gardiner type Non-Interfering. This was considered a dangerous type mechanism because it would not send it's signal when it was in non-interfering mode. If the outer door was opened, the reset pin is removed from the armature plunger allowing the coil to open preventing the signal to be sent if another box was pulled at the same time.It's missing the hammer for the tap bell other than that it is very nice condition.The second is a 1880's Interfering Weight-Sector mechanism with the improved procerlain terminal block. unlike some of the earlier ones, this one was equipped with the tap bell for communications between the box and the fire house or office. Later versions of this movement were upgraded with non-interfering coils located at the top of the ... moremechanism. I do not have the glass for this one but they do come up on ebay time to time. This one has also been restored and is in very nice condition. Both of the movements operate mechanically. These mechanisms are getting harder to find e specially ones in good condition. Gamewell Vintage Master Call Box This master box was removed from an old concrete building. The old fire alarm system was tested before it was removed and it still actually worked. This was the common gamewell fire alarm master call box of the time. There is not a key included in this auction. The tele-type switch is still fully functioning and the system stops on it's own till the next time it's tripped. Kind of a cool old antique. Aside from some sloppy painter painting it with a paint brush. It's in pretty decent shape especially for it's age. Gamewell Vintage Annunciator Box with 16 Indicators This annunciator was removed from an old concrete building. The wires were already pulled out by my shop guys(recycling vultures) so I'm not sure whether it was removed working or if it was abandoned. This was the common gamewell fire alarm annunciator box of the time. There is not a key included in this auction. Kind of a cool old antique. Aside from the exterior's heavy peeling the box is in fairly solid shape. I am selling this as is as far as working but am still offering returns if unsatisfied. Gamewell Vintage Pull Station 1924 Patent Date Dimensions. 10" x 8" x 7" This pull station was removed from an old concrete building. The old fire alarm system was tested before it was removed and it still actually worked. This was the common gamewell fire alarm pull station of the time. There is not a key included in this auction. The mercury switch is still fully functioning and the reset can be done by releasing the switch from the back. Kind of a cool old antique. VINTAGE SOLID BRASS FIRE ALARM / SPORTS BOXING / OLD SCHOOL TRIP BELL
You are bidding on a vintage(circa 1930's) REITER. Trip bell that came out of an old fire station in Cleveland, Ohio many years ago. The fire station has since been demolished. The bell itself is solid brass and 10" in diameter. The mounting plate is cast iron and the trip arm and striker are solid brass. When you pull the trip arm, the striker hits the bell producing a loud clanging sound. This bell sounds more like a gong then a bell due to the density of the brass. Other than some minor nicks and dings on the brass bell, it is in really good shape for it's age. This bell would be great for any collector of such memorabilia or can be put back in service, since it has many signaling applications.
