The front has a great pic of a fire truck roaring out in red, white and blue. The back has an aerial ladder truck that you could cut out and stand up. One end has the ingredients and the other says it was manufactured by Willimson Candy Co. in Chicago, Illinois. But shows minor sign of being weathered. Inner mechanism has some rust on the hinges and the lock needs to be oiled. No cobwebs or bug stuff inside the box. In doing that they needed to add everything a business needed- including an"official" fire alarm system. At one point we had quite a few of these fire pulls. But I believe this is the only one that hid from us when heading to metal recycling. I know nothing about Simplex. Fire alarms(other than what they are supposed to do) or pull stations(ditto with other statement) I believe all of this type of equipment worked when we purchased our house, but it definitely no longer works after being removed from the wall and an electric source. Vintage Cast Iron Star Fire Alarm Box
This is a very old cast iron Star Fire Alarm Box. That you don't see very often. It says"Star Electric Company, Binghamton. N.Y. U.S.A. on the front door. It has the imperfections typical of a very old casting. It has lots of brass items inside. the interior mechanism glass is held in by a brass frame. The fitting below the inner door lock is made of heavy brass. Behind the interior mechanism is what looks like 3/8" slate. It was refinished a few years ago and is a very clean and nice looking box. Nothing is lose and lying in the box. It is all fastened down like it should be. This is very heavy.65 pounds.15" tall, 12" wide and 7" deep. Things that are wrong or what I see is missing: No lock on front door. No keys. No number tag on front door. When you wind it up it taps out the box number(without pulling the ... morehandle) until the spring is unwound. A small chip on the upper left part of the rain cap in front or maybe its just the way the rough casting came out. Glass on the interior mechanism is only half there. Some small paint scratches. Shipping is for the lower 48 States and isn't cheap because of the weight. It may be lower depending on where you live. Contact me if you want a more exact quote. This is another cool unusual item our team found. This is an old bell that appears to be nickle plated brass but we could not be sure without scratching item and we surely wouldn't do that. Bell is 5 1/2" wide at widest point and 3 1/2 at its narrowest spot and about 5 1/2" tall. Wood mount is about 5 1/2" x 11" about 1/2" thick. Item has not been tested and is being sold as is for parts or restoration. Item is heavy weighing over 7 lbs. This is just another great item that I wish I could see work after some expert TLC. Hi. I've got some more alarms I don't have room for. The following devices are included in this listing: 1) Wheelock CH-CF1-W ceiling mount chime(Tested and working. Original instructions also included) 4) Simplex 2098-9806 LED test stations(All tested and working. Also included are 3 keys) The chime is from 1992. And I got it new in the box about a year ago. Has a jumper to set single stroke or vibrate, and controls for the tone pitch and volume which work fine. The test stations I got all brand new in box also about a year ago. They have some brown stuff on the back(maybe adhesive from the old tape holding the keys on. Or possibly a bit of rust) All the switches and LEDs work great. Thanks for looking!

This is a refinished ADT Fire Alarm Box that functions as a lamp. I believe they were originally installed in the 1940’s. It has been cleaned. Stripped, bead blasted, primed and painted red. The lettering is done in white on the door and inside. The box measures about 5 inches x 6 ½ inches and about 5 inches deep. To the top of the socket measures about 12 inches. The small glass plate on the outer door is included. This allows the outer door to lock as it would when installed. A new. Replacement brass key is included to open the door with out breaking the glass. The inside lever is then exposed to activate the timer. When the lever is pushed down. The timer runs out a clicking noise. The inner door can be opened by removing the security screw with a screw driver. When the inner cover is opened. Old Lunkenheimer Mockingbird 5 Inch Fire Alarm Steam Whistle Hit Miss Gas Engine
This is a pretty nice original and VERY hard to find Lunkenheimer 5 inch fire alarm steam whistle. They are made similar to a Mockingbird but are a bit different and were used on early fire engines back in the day. It seems to be in good condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It is a rather large whistle and is about 26 inches long overall. It is marked with the Lunkenheimer name and has a 1892 patent date on the other side of the body. The slide moves freely. This whistle has 1 1/2 inch pipe threads. The dome is in great shape with only a few very minor dings. I believe this whistle could be plumbed up to steam or compressed air and used just the way it is. Both the slide and the valve have short cables attached to use it. These larger mockingbird whistles are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets ... moreand really turn some heads when they are polished up and displayed at the shows!
