This big group of Amatrol robotic equipment came from a local school that retired it's equipment and upgraded to something newer. I was told that it was working when it was removed from service. They did say that one of the Amatrol CPUs might not be working properly. When I picked it up from the school it was actually all still hooked up and bolted down to a big rolling cart. I did plug in the robotic arm while at the school and the arm does move around. The rest of the lot I didn't have time to hook up and test. Now that I have it all at home with me. Checkweigher Loma AS Series GCW12843 5 kG Conveyor Check Weigher This is a Loma check weigher machine in good used condition. This machine weighs a product in its packaging that is moving in a conveyor line and if the gross weight is not within spec it rejects the unit using an airblast solenoid. The unit has a 10kG load cell installed. But it is calibrated to 5 kG. The machine consists of three separate inline conveyor belts with the center one being the actual scale mechanism called the powered weight table(PWT) Running a product on the machine is as easy as place an package on the scale and taring the scale to this new package. Then as the packages pass over the PWT the gross weight of the product and packaging is recorded and if it is not within spec the air blast solenoid fires the item off the conveyor. The unit was tested by taring ... morethe scale to a particular small box and then adding washers to the box until the weight was higher than the acceptable range and that tripped the rejection solenoid. We also tested the unit with some calibration weights and it read very accurately up to 5kG. But it will not read above 5 kG. The machine is currently set at about +- 4.5 percent. The touch screen allows you to tare an item, but we are not sure how to enter the configuration mode. The machine is in overall good condition and the conveyor. Scale and rejection systems are working. There may be some integration or calibration changes that would be required to run in a new system. Checked with calibration weights and it very accurate.
